One of my favourite primers! It doesn't just minimise pores, it seems to get rid of them completely. Works really well on dry skin to act as a smooth base for the rest of my makeup. Also has a nice matte look that lasts all day and night. Highly recommend!
This is a budget-friendly silicone-based primer that blurs pores upon application and makes your skin look smoother when applied under foundation. However, the effect doesn't last on my combination skin that can get oily around the T-zone and the sides of my nose. After a few hours as the areas get greasy and the effect is gone and skin looks even greasier than without the primer. It might work better on drier skin types though.
This was my first primer I ever purchased! It was super affordable as I picked it up for half price and a little bit always went a long way! It is a silicone based primer so it is clear and it has a tacky like feel when applied to the skin. I have dry and sensitive skin and it worked fine for me! It kept my makeup on all day and it made my skin feel soft and smooth!
Maybelline claim this product will make pores dissapear instanly & utilises technology to blur skin. It is an affordable option & comes in a 20ml container.
Gel in texture- the tube is easy to apply the right amount by gently squeezing. Applies very easily & spreads well over skin. The product ends up drying down to smooth finish. Heavy in dimethicone (silicone) pores are slightly minimised - though not all disappear. I find that the skin looks smoother which makes foundation apply a little bit easier & smoother. Its best to let this primer dry /settle on skin first.
I find that this primer doesn't make my makeup last longer at all. While I get a smooth texture it doesn't do anything to make product last longer on the face. I also have an combination skin type & this doesn't control oil or shine in my oily places so foundation can still wear just as well there. I'm sure those with dry skin & pores would enjoy this one.
The primer is heavy in silicone so does a good job at hiding pores & making skin smoother. It's also fragrance free.
Repurchase ? I wouldn't as my texture on my skin is ok. I like primers that make my foundation last longer so I wont but I think its a great option for those that have heaps of pores/ texture. Silicone also breaks me out/ clogs pores.
Dimethicone, Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Stearyl Heptanoate, Caprylyl Glycol, Silica Silylate, Propylene Glycol, Pentaerythrityl Tetraisostearate, Prunus Cerasus Extract / Bitter Cherry Extract.
How to use-
Apply softly & wait for it to dry before applying foundation
Apply only to areas where there is lots of pores/ texture
Recommend for -
People with significant amounts of texture and pores on skin
My best friend recommended this product as a dupe for the Benefit Porefessional primer. I have combination skin, my t zone gets oily throughout the day but I have dry patches overall especially around my mouth and under eyes. This drugstore dupe is amazing, it smoothes out my skin and once my foundation is applied the areas I put the primer look flawless. I find the foundation on my nose still stays put even though I apply primer there. It's affordable and gets the job done. I don't know if I would purchase a high end primer ever after this product.
This product is definitely a great alternative to the more expensive pore-blurring products. It left my skin feeling very smooth. I have fairly visible pores around my nose, and this product definitely helped to minimise them. It did not get rid of them completely, but it did a good job at blurring them. It comes in a small tube, but it lasts for a long time as only a little bit of product is needed.
It mentions that this product has blur technology, which means that it's not so much going to fill in your pores but it's going to blur your pores and fine lines on the skin. This primer is completely transparent (no tint), upon first applying, the formula does feel a little heavy and oily. I honestly didn't wanna put it on cause of how it felt, but as I worked it in a little more and pressed it into my skin, it became light weight and didn't have any oiliness to it. So the more your rub it in, the better effect you'll get. It's very important to only apply a thin layer, as it will leave your makeup slipping and sliding.
Best way to apply is in circular and dapping motions. This will really work the product into your skin, to seal and blur any pores. Really focus the product on areas that you have the most pores eg: the nose, forehead, cheeks, chin etc. This product is great to blur out any fine lines under the eyes. I've had some great results. There was a difference in how my foundation looked, it helped blur out my pores and fine lines under my eyes. It helped create a smoother base for my foundation, while extending the wear of my foundation by a few hours At first, I made a mistake from applying bit to much that my makeup looked like it was about to slide off. So a little bit definitely goes a long way. It's very light weight once rubbed it. I found that whilst wearing this product it kinda built a barrier between my skin and makeup. Which meant that it was super easy to remove my makeup at night.
I've tried this primer after hearing a bit about it, and although it does leave skin feeling soft (thanks to silicone) it doesn't seem to do much else. I haven't noticed any long term shine control, or hydrating properties, nor does it really claim to do this. It's not bad, but it's not something I reach for or rave about.
This was the first ever primer/pore eraser I decided to try since it was so affordable and I had heard many great things and I was not disappointed. You only need a small area to cover a large area of your face and it creates the perfect silky base for any foundation type! It also makes it a lot easier to take your makeup off at the end of the day since it helps prevent foundation and powders getting right into your pores and creating blemishes. I, myself have rather oily skin some days and it helps to soothe that and get my makeup looking fresh and it lasted a lot longer!
It's a great product for people looking for a cheap first try of primers!
Maybelline's Pore Eraser is a fragrance free, invisible gel primer. After being squeezed out of the tube it looks thick but it's actually easily spreadable.
This product does what it claims to do, which is that it gets rid of my pores, however does not have the ability to control oil (this is coming from someone with combination skin - my T-zone is oily yet the rest of my face is dry.) After applying it my face felt velvet-like due to the silicone, it was invisible and it created an even base that allowed my foundation to glide on without any streaks or patchiness. For application be careful not to apply too much as a little definitely goes a long way. Using too much product or rubbing it too much resulted in the primer flaking for me.
Overall it has a relatively cheap price, for a decent quality product - I wouldn't repurchase it though. It's a good silicone based primer for beginners but I didn't have fantastic experiences with it due to my skin type.
I would recommend this pore eraser for those with dry skin and who are working on a budget as there are better, yet more expensive silicone primers on the market, such as Benefit's Porefessional.
Tip: This is actually a dupe for Smashbox's Insta Matte Lipstick Transformer. As the pore eraser is silicone based applying it on top of glossy lipstick gets rid of the shine and as its' main ingredient is Dimethicone it's safe to use on your lips! If you find that you dislike the product as a primer give it a shot to matte-ify your lipsticks.
Best pore eraser ever! Is also a great mattifier for oily skin but also works well for oily and dry skin types.
