Yves Saint Laurent Beauté Rive Gauche EDT

I have been wearing this perfume for years and years and it's one of those fragrances that I will never grow tired of wearing.  It's a classic scent that never goes out of style and it lasts for so long.  I usually spray it once in the morning and I can smell it until the end of the day.  It is not an in your face type of scent but it definitely makes a statement.  It is rose based without being too pungent.  It works well with the other floral notes and it's a bit powdery which is why I like it.  I don't even know how many bottles I've purchased throughout my life and I just recently received it for my birthday.  The bottle is beautiful as well as I love the distinct blue, black and white colour.  It's an elegant fragrance and truly one of my favourites.

This perfume is a true classic, I have won this as long as I can remember, my mum wore it too. it is pure french style, a classic combination of florals with a gorgeous rose fragrance and notes of musk which I adore. This is elegant and feminine, it has an oriental flavour that is quite sophisticated and unique. The packaging is appealing with its distinctive blue, silver and black container. I received my first bottle of Rive Gauche many years ago as a gift & have loved it ever since. First off I love the packaging - the cobalt blue, black & silver bottle is striking & very distinctive. It looks fantastic on my dresser, and the metal case helps keep the perfume in perfect condition. The perfume is quite unique, it has an oriental orientation that isn't too powerful or overly strongly oriental - perfect for me when I want something warm & inviting for my fragrance for the day, without overwhelming those around me. For an EDT strength it lasts quite well, and with a modest spray silage is perfect too.  This is a distinct scent I get comments on when wearing, as it's truly so beautiful.  One of YSL's best scents, I'm always going to have this in my fragrance wardrobe.

This is a classic and timeless scent that has transcended time. I wore this in the 80's and have now returned to discover it is still fabulous. My impressions are a fragrance that evokes energy, fun, strength and freedom. It is modern and sophisticated, glamorous and fresh - a scent that can be worn day or night.

A beautifully classic fragrance that I discovered a few years ago and am loving more and more as time goes on. A captivating, fabulous floral fragrance, with rose the lovely prominent emerging scent. This perfume is wonderfully different to others I have worn. It has this pleasant, sophisticated, mature feel that is one of a kind. You only need one spray of this perfume as it's strong and it has very good longevity so it's definitely a great value buy. I have been complimented on smelling beautiful when wearing this fragrance which makes me feel happy. The perfume bottle is also attractive. The bright blue, black and shiny silver really captures your attention. I recommend it to anyone who wants a mature, unique perfume.

This is my mothers favourite perfume! I always used to borrow it throughout my teenage years. It is such a classic scent. It has a beautiful floral scent with a slight metallic tone to it. The scent is very sophisticated. The packaging is so recognisable and always makes me reminisce about my mothers powder room table with her bottle of Rive Gauche sitting there. Although it would not be my every day scent I do love this as a scent I would wear to a high tea or such event that makes me feel a little old fashioned and feminine. I don't think it would be every ones favourite but I would recommend it to those looking for a more mature, floral scent.

Over the last 15 yrs Rive Gauche has been a classic staple in my perfume repertoire. For me Rive Gauche is a modern, discrete, and understated scent. A natural expression as opposed to some of the pugnant 'in your face' scents around.  Cool name too, Rive Gauche meaning 'left bank of the river', referencing the earlier artistic community of Montparnasse, Paris, included artists and writers such at Hemingway and Scott Fitzgerald. A classic in will always go back to.

This perfume reminds me of my mum as it is one of her favourite fragrances.  It is a classy, sophisticated and mature scent that is timeless and one of a kind.  It is woody but mostly a bouquet of floral scents with rose being the primary one, along with oakmoss, Iris, Geranium and Ylang Ylang.  It is personally not my cup of tea but the scent has certainly grown on me.
