Because of course she does
We don’t need to tell you how important eyebrows can be. Not only do they help frame and flatter your face, a brow disaster (read: overplucking or a bad wax job) can leave you with uneven and wonky arches that can take anywhere between a few weeks to several months to grow back. As such, we wouldn’t blame anyone for being cautious with their brows let alone a celebrity as big as Rihanna. But rather than shying away from changing her brow look altogether, Rihanna simply outsourced the experimenting stage to a lookalike brow model.
Yep, you read that right! In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, celebrity brow artist Damone Roberts revealed Rihanna had a model experiment with lightening her brows before the singer did it herself at this year’s Met Gala where she wore a costume inspired by the Pope. “So literally a lookalike model trialled and tried everything until we got [the brows] perfect and we sent Rihanna the pictures and we heard nothing until two days before the Met Gala and she’s like, “I loved them! You have to fly to New York and take care of me!’” Roberts explained.
Although there was a quick turnaround to achieve the lightened brow look, there’s no doubt the end result was anything but show-stopping.
While Rihanna’s brow prep in the leadup to this year’s Met Gala gives us a glimpse as to how the other half live, we can’t say we wouldn’t do the same if we were in her position. Given the fact she’s nothing short of celebrity royalty, it makes totally sense that Rihanna would want to see the results of a drastic brow change before she took the plunge herself. In fact, we take our hats off to her delegation skills.
