The product

While we’ll admit we’re partial to a full coverage and full face beat for a night out, when it comes to everyday makeup (or when we’re feeling a bit lazy) there’s nothing we love more than a tinted moisturiser.

Bonus points if the stuff is SPF-inclusive too for a two birds, one stone kind of deal.

Rimmel London Kind & Free™ Moisturising Skin Tint is the latest base product innovation that couples a classic, lightweight tinted moisturiser formula with skin care ingredients and a clean, vegan-friendly promise. The folks over at Rimmel have outdone themselves and brought us a skin tint that boasts an INCI List with 77 per cent natural origin ingredients.

The result? Glowy, lightweight coverage with a lovely dose of SPF 20 to boot.

Here’s what our panel of Review Crew® testers had to say about this natural-finish skin tint.

The panel

Beauty Crew sent Rimmel London Kind & Free™ Moisturising Skin Tint to a panel of women aged 18 and older with a penchant for all types of base products and an affinity for clean beauty.

The lowdown

Here’s what the Review Crew® loved about the Rimmel London Kind & Free™ Moisturising Skin Tint.

How hydrating the formula was: Our reviewers loved the hydrating benefits of the tinted moisturiser formula, with many saying they used the skin tint in lieu of moisturiser some days when they wanted a lighter routine.

The youthful glow it gave skin: Thanks to the inclusion of glow-enhancing skin care ingredients (antioxidants vitamin E and B5, and aloe vera) our members noted an increase in radiance after application.

The lightweight feel of the formula: A number of reviewers mentioned that the formula was almost undetectable on skin, providing light to medium coverage without looking cakey or feeling heavy.

The verdict

“I really enjoyed this product. It has such a nice velvety/satin feel to the application. I tried using a beauty blender and my fingers to apply, both worked well respectively. I liked that you could build up the coverage or leave it as natural as you liked. It gave a youthful dewy appearance. A bonus for my sensitive skin is that it is fragrance free and is SPF20 to protect my skin. It wore well throughout the day and didn’t leave me oily faced like other foundations. It has a lightweight feel to it but covers blemishes well.”

“I don’t wear a lot of foundation so tinted moisturiser is my go to. I loved the texture and it was easy to apply, [it] works best when applying with fingers instead of a brush. It’s lightweight with a decent coverage and [it] gave my skin a really nice glow. Lightly scented which was great. I found it lasted throughout the day and washed off easily at night. I’d be happy to recommend it [to] anyone that prefers to use a tinted moisturiser.”

“I have sensitive skin but this product did not give me breakouts. I like how light it is on the skin when applied, [and it] leaves my skin feeling hydrated. It does not have a strong scent in it too which I also liked. It provides a good light coverage which is perfect for everyday wear [as] I like this kind of product. Feels like it's barely there but provides a good feel and some coverage to the skin. Not to mention the other good things/ingredients it has, such as aloe, Vitamins B5 and E and it has SPF too.”
