Do you follow any US-based beauty editors, influencers or makeup artists on Instagram? If you do, we'll put money on the fact that you've seen a steely blue tube of face mask on your feed in the last 24 hours.
The mask in question is the Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask.
Over the past month, the who's who of the American beauty industry have become obsessed with the Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask. Beauty editors in particular are besotted. Refinery 29 likened it to a face transplant: "I looked wide awake, glowing, and healthier than if I spent a week at a Goop-sponsored wellness retreat." While Fashionista said: "When I [removed the mask], my winter-ravaged, when-will-spring-ever-arrive dry skin looked smoother, more supple, less haggard and subtly brighter." Allure's review was equally as kind: "My skin was soft and had a bouncy-sort-of feeling, with no noticeable dryness around my nose."
The mask was created by influencers Marianna Hewitt and Lauren Gores Ireland. Basically, it's an overnight sleep mask that hydrates and brightens with a little help from vitamin C, ceramides, antioxidants, and gently exfoliating extracts. Its texture is rich and balm-y without being too thick. Pop it on, go to sleep and wash off upon rising.
In the States, the Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask retails for USD $48 from Sephora. Unfortunately, it isn't available in Australia just yet. While we wait, here are five dupes that you can add to cart immediately:
