The trick to nailing a Christmas lunch or dinner at home is certainly with a decent spread of sweet and savoury delights, but the real MVP is a festive candle to really set the tone for the occasion. Here are the best holiday-appropriate candles of the season.
If you’re whimsical
This Diptyque Carousel and Candle Duo Pack comes with two of the French fragrance brand’s most famous scents - Baies and Feu de Bois - as well as a rotating mobile that spins with the gentle tap of a finger. It’s, by far, one of our favourite Christmas launches of all time.
If you like summery scents
With this luxurious Creed Green Irish Tweed Candle you can fill your home with the refreshing scent of lemon, verbena and peppermint. We also can’t help but fall in love with the clever addition of violet leaf to sweeten, and sandalwood and ambergris to add a lingering effect overall.
If you’re traditional
Go with a more classic pick this year with this Maison Francis Kurkdjian Mon Beau Sapin Scented Candle, which smells of balsam fir (Christmas trees) along with dark and woody notes for extra pow.
If you’re into richer scents
You can’t go past the gorgeous Glasshouse Night Before Christmas Candle, which contains blackcurrant, plum, lemon and lavender, to remind you of festive fruits and delicious treats like plum pudding.
If you’re extravagant
The Fornasetti Scacco Candle is your best bet if you like anything that’s over the top. This limited edition one smells aromatic and contains lavender, thyme, smoky cedar and incense, and is seriously to die for.
If you’re a fan of floral scents
The Cire Trudon Odeurs D’Hiver Etoile Candle is almost too pretty to light, but you won’t regret it once you catch a whiff of its rose, patchouli, tonka bean, sandalwood and cedar scent that lingers for hours.
If you like sweet scents
With notes like sugar, caramel, mandarin and lemon, the Soh Melbourne Collins St Candle is just the thing for anyone that has a sweet tooth. Plus, we love its brass vessel, which can be used as a trinket jar or mini vase when you’re done burning it.
Warm up your home with these candles that’ll remind you of a summer holiday.
