Jesinta Campbell’s 3 must-have beauty products

Plus, the best trick she’s ever learnt

Beauty Crew Editor / May 25 2017

At the tender age of 24 (she’ll be turning 25 in less than a month), Jesinta Campbell has built a pretty impressive resume. With several David Jones runway shows under her belt and a successful modelling career that continues to rise, the Australian stunner can now add beauty ambassador to the list, after just being named the new face of Olay Total Effects.

Beauty Crew recently got some time to chat to the down-to-earth model about her beauty bag essentials, the tricks she’s learnt along the way, her go-to off-duty beauty look.

On her favourite beauty products
Definitely coconut oil. I use it on my body, I use it in my hair and I use it to remove my makeup. A really good lip balm, too. Zoe Foster’s Go-To lip balm is really, really good. She’s also brought out one with a little bit of colour that I like [she’s talking about Pinky-Nudey Lips!]. The Olay Total Effects Foaming Cleanser, it gets all your makeup off and it feels really good, and the Charlotte Tilbury Lipstick in Red Carpet Red. It stays on all night, it’s amazing.”

On her go-to off-duty beauty look
Moisturiser, a BB cream if I feel like it, bit of brow, some lip gloss, and if I feel like it, a bit of mascara. I don’t like to wear lots on my days off, because I have to wear so much during work. I like my hair to be tousled, ghd have this amazing curling wand and I just put a few little curls and a little bit of sea salt spray in my hair and off I go.”

On where she gets her hair done
Valonz do my colour and Renya [Xydis]’s done my new cut, which you’ll get to see very soon – it’s really choppy and I’ve just really chopped into the hair and given it some more shape. And Renya did an amazing job. She’s an incredible hairdresser.”

On how she keeps her brows looking so good
Kristin Fisher does my eyebrows. I should see her more regularly than I do. And I like to fill them in. I think a good, filled-in brow is really nice. Not all of us are as genetically gifted as Bambi [Northwood-Blyth] and we don’t have those big, amazing bushy brows, so a little help is always good”

The brow pencils in Jesinta’s kit? Charlotte Tilbury Brow Lift and Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz.

On the best beauty trick she’s ever learnt
“I like highlighter on the cupid’s bow, especially with a red lip. I always do that whenever I’ve got a lip on. Highlighter right under the brow, too, that instantly lifts the eyes. Even a little bit too in your inner eyes helps. I’ve also learnt that skin prep is really everything when applying makeup. That’s really really important. I make sure that I always prep my skin before I sit in the makeup chair. I do like a good facial massage; it’s really good if you’re feeling a little bit puffy.”

On how her skin care routine changes in winter
“[My skin] dries out during the winter, so I only use a toner three times a week. I don’t like not using one, but personally for me, every day is a little bit too much. And then I try and do a mask once a week, too.”

On how she stays fit (on top of her regular boxing sessions)
“I like to run. Running’s really good cardio if I’m feeling a little bit sluggish and I’ve been a little bit lazy. I’ll always run, because I feel like that’s the quickest way to feel fit and strong. I went through a stage where I was soft sand running every morning at like 5 am, but then it gotcold and I was like, ‘Oh I’m not doing this anymore, its crazy!’ But Pilates is amazing, too, and I love Barre Body – you see such difference in you body. You just feel so much tighter.”

On her tips for staying motivated to exercise during in winter
“Variety. And I think it’s really important to block your workouts in your calendar like you would a business meeting or a facial. Have it in your diary ready and stick to it. Pay for your classes upfront, and then you’ll feel guilty if you don’t go. Also do it with a group of friends. I do boxing with my friends Josie and Ryan at the moment, and I think working out with a group of people is really good.”

On hamburgers
“I think one of my favourite sayings is something like ‘Exercise to stay fit and have a burger to stay sane.'

It’s really important to indulge every now and again. Don’t make it a daily thing, but definitely for sure. You’ve got to allow yourself indulgence. Eighty per cent of the time, Monday to Friday, I always eat wholesome, clean food. I do all the right things. I exercise and I try to get as much sleep as possible. On Saturday I might enjoy a nice glass of red wine and then on Sunday, I do like a Sunday fun day, where for one meal I have whatever I want. In the lead up to a show like David Jones, I wouldn’t really do that, because its one night where I have to look really good and fit.”
