10 beauty essentials that’ll see you through summer
Your face and body will thank you for it

With the warmer weather (hooray!) well and truly here, we’re starting to spend more time outdoors, basking in the heat (with sunscreen on, of course) and making the most of the balmy air. The change of season calls for some new beauty products that can handle the hotter months. Hey, we’ll take any excuse to go shopping…
Aerin Limone di Sicilia
Aerin’s scents are always a fine balance between elegant and refreshing, and Limone di Sicilia is no different. Top notes feature bergamot, lemon and mandarin (an obvious choice for this citrus spritz), with middle notes of jasmine, rose and pink pepper, and an alluring base of ambrox and oakmoss. It’s the kind of perfume you just want to spray over and over again through the warmer months, and we’re ok with that.
Summer Stories Tallebudgera Shampoo and Tamborine Conditioner
The newest brand on our radar is Summer Stories - they’re a haircare brand that infuses Australian botanical ingredients in its formula and looks seriously slick. Besides the fact that they smell seriously fantastic (the Tallebudgera Shampoo smells just like oranges and cyprus, whilst the Tamborine Conditioner brings together notes of orange and eucalyptus), the formulas are paraben, silicone and sulphate-free, as well as free from dyes and artificial colours (so it won’t mess with sensitive scalps).
Lady Jayne x Bec and Bridge Smooth & Knotless Detangling Brush
Throw this brush from Lady Jayne in your handbag, gym bag or beach bag to quickly and effectively remove knots from your hair. We can’t get enough of the leopard print design that stands out in our belongings, making it easy to reach for (especially when we’re in a rush!).
Beysis Personalised Water Bottle
An eco-friendly and leak-proof bottle that can keep your water cold for up to 24 hours? Yes please. This season, we’re reaching for the ones from Beysis, which you can customise with your favourite colour (there are three to choose from) and your name on the lid.
Too Faced Hangover 3-in-1 Replenishing Primer & Setting Spray Peach Edition
Fruity scents and summer go hand in hand, which is why Too Faced’s newest spritz is a must-have this season. Besides the fact that it smells like peaches (yum!), the formula is powered by coconut water to seriously quench the thirst of dry skin.
Revlon Ultra HD Vinyl Lip Polish
The finish we’re reaching for this summer is a vinyl lip polish - they feel slightly sticky like a gloss, but are so packed with pigment you’d mistake them for a liquid lipstick. The real icing on the cake, though, is its high-impact shine factor, making it a top choice for anyone that wants to visually enlarge the appearance of their smackers.
Lanolips Lanostick Lemonaid Scrubba-Balm
The key to pulling off a bright lip this season comes down to the prep, so smooth your smackers with Lanolips Lanostick Lemonaid Scrubba-Balm. Besides featuring lanolin to lock moisture in, the formula is infused with organic lemon oil, sugar crystals and orange peel for triple the exfoliating power.
Ultra Violette Violette’s Visor
Who knew sun protection could look THIS good?! Ultra Violette’s first foray in the fashion world is a chic ‘80s-inspired visor that’s easy to pop on to make you stand out this summer. Just don’t forget to pair it with lots of face and body sunscreen.
La Roche-Posay Anthelios XL Ultra-Light Fluid SPF 50+
We’ve tried tons and tons of sunscreen over the years, but one that we keep reaching for is the La Roche-Posay Anthelios XL Ultra-Light Fluid SPF 50+. The formula is quick-drying, non-sticky, and fast-absorbing. Just don’t forget to apply it 30 minutes before stepping outside, and reapply every two hours to stay protected all day long.
