Camila Mendes reveals the beauty products she's obsessed with
From her signature scent to her favourite flyaway tamer

It's no secret that Riverdale jumped the shark long ago; what was originally a show somewhat grounded in reality has evolved into one where we can barely follow the plot points.
But while that may be because it is legitimately tricky to keep track of which serial killer/supernatural gang/rabid bear (yep) is the villain at large at any one time, it could also be that it's a tad tough to concentrate when we can't stop staring at Camila Mendes' face. Or hair. Or nails. Or anything.
Let's just say that Veronica Lodge's beauty game is as strong as her hustle, and homegirl owned a speakeasy at 17 (again, see former point re: shark jumping). And while we're sure the hair and makeup wizards work wonders behind the scenes, there's no denying that Mendes' own beauty game lays the foundation for her characters'.
Luckily, Mendes chatted to Cosmopolitan U.K. about the buys she relies on both on and offscreen, and all of our faces/strands/pulse points will be the better for knowing them...
Davines This Is An Invisible Serum
"They use this on set of Riverdale because I get a lot of flyaways. And when you're being backlit, you can see everything. This is kind of a paste-serum. It's a little thicker, and a little goes a long way, but it's great for baby hairs and fried hairs that stick up. It's my best-kept secret."
Alumier Retinol Resurfacing Serum
"Retinol is the one thing facialists and derms recommend that you use in your daily, and it's the only thing that is proven to really work. And so retinol is like a staple in my skin care routine. I use it every other night. I feel like it like not only smooths the skin but it's great for anti-ageing, and for whenever I have little blemishes." This particular formula requires a prescription, FYI, but we have some favourite retinol products of our own, too…
Marc Jacobs Daisy EDT
"One of the girls in high school had this on her vanity and she always smelled so good. It was a thing all the cool girls had. Still my signature now, it's what I use in the daytime. Maybe I should evolve and grow up, but I’ve apparently chosen not to."
Sunday Riley Autocorrect Brightening And Depuffing Eye Contour Cream
"When I wake up from shooting a big emotional scene the night before, I always wake up puffy. So having that little moment of massaging my under-eyes? I need that. This is a brightening and de-puffing cream, so it's good for that."
Angela Caglia La Vie En Rose Face Roller
"I make sure this is kept in my fridge, so it's on my way to the coffee machine in the morning... I pass by the fridge, grab the roller, and start the process of making coffee. It's all like, 'Okay, I'm slowwwly becoming a conscious human being. Starting to work my brain again'."
Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion
"Something that's always been in my life and my makeup bag, since I was literally in junior high, is this... I can’t stand it when my shadow creases. So when I learned about eyeshadow primer, it was like a new obsession."
Olaplex No.6 Bond Smoother
"I love Olaplex. My hair gets coloured once a month, I'd say, and the shampoo is good for anyone who dyes their hair. But this particular product is a styling cream that's great for wavy hair. One squeeze of the tube tames my waves and really makes an impact, but in a way that makes them look hydrated and natural."
OPI Nail Lacquer in Lincoln Park After Dark
"For Riverdale I have to pick a nail colour every year, and that's the colour I stick to; it was Lincoln Park After Dark for a while." Mendes noted that she's graduated to a more understated nude shade since the show's time jump, but that she tends to choose colours "that would work in my daily life, that felt like me but also work for Veronica."
