We put the DERCOS Aminexil Regen Booster Serum to the test and here are our results
The serum working wonders on hair and confidence
As a first-time mum, I had heard the whispers of postpartum hair loss, but it wasn’t until I started experiencing it first-hand, did I realise the havoc it could wreak on my locks.
True to form, the front of my hairline suffered the most, with thinning and loss of volume the main culprits. And sadly, my hair hasn't been the same since.
In bid to help boost hair thickness (and my confidence), I was very eager to try the new DERCOS Aminexil Regen Booster Serum.
The serum, which is formulated with innovative anti hair-fall care technology, is based on 30 years of research, and promises to help renew hair, stronger and healthier than before – aka exactly what I’ve been searching for.
So, without further ado, here's my experience and honest thoughts putting the DERCOS Aminexil Regen Booster Serum ($75.99 from Chemist Warehouse) to the test.

DERCOS Aminexil Regen Booster Serum Review
First Impressions
Upon first application, I was surprised at the water-like consistency of the serum. It’s very fluid, making it easy to spread throughout the hair.
As DERCOS recommends using the product 5-7 times a week, I found my ideal application was post-shower. That way I let the serum work its magic overnight, and by morning I could style my hair as normal.
I didn’t find it left my hair greasy or needing any extra washing, which I appreciated.
My Experience
The lightweight consistency of the serum and how fast it absorbed into my scalp and hair, leaving behind no residue or greasiness, really impressed me.
The dropper’s design makes application so easy, knowing exactly how much serum to use per section of your hair thanks to the dosage line, you really can’t get it wrong.
Formulation wise, the dermatological actives used to treat from the roots to the ends have worked wonders. The serum is concentrated with 1.5% aminexil and 3% of ginger extract and niacinamide to increase visible volume.
The formula compliments the double-action design of the serum – reducing hair-fall and supporting better quality hair which I’m happy to report has been my experience.
Before and after results
The Verdict
After putting the serum to the test over the past four weeks, I have definitely noticed a rejuvenated thickness to my hair.
There is visible new growth all around the front of my hairline, which is the area I’ve been most self-conscious about.
I’ve noticed a dramatic reduction in the amount of hair that I normally lose when brushing or styling, and my hair feels fuller, stronger and looks denser.
The serum has fit into my hair care routine seamlessly and is an easy step to add in for maximum results – for both my hair and my confidence.
