The product

Every beauty kit needs a do-it-all product; that go-to overachiever that tackles a myriad of woes in record time.

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant is one such product. This balmy formula combats everything from dry, cracked skin (cuticles, hands, face, lips – you name it), rashes, and bites to leave you with soothed, repaired and replenished skin.

It’s also a bit of a no-brainer product for finally giving the slugging skin care trend a proper go. Tempting, no?

Here’s what our panel of Review Crew® testers had to say about this multipurpose repairing skin protectant.

The panel

Beauty Crew sent Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant to a panel of women aged 25 to 39 that were aiming to deeply condition, nourish and heal dry, cracked skin.

The lowdown

Here’s what the Review Crew® loved about Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant.

The way it hydrated dry skin: From dry cuticles to dry lips, and even a dry face, Review Crew® members were plastering skin protectant over every inch of skin they could to help relieve dryness and dehydration.

The multi-purpose formula: Reviewers really liked the fact that the balmy formula could be used in a myriad of ways. Some members preferred using the skin protectant as a lip balm or a hand cream, while others smoothed their brow hairs into place with it.

It could be used to soothe bites and itchy skin: Members loved the remedial properties of the formula, with many reviewers saying they’d used the balm to soothe mosquito bites, rashes, itchy skin and even cold sores.

The verdict

“Loved the product, and it couldn't have come at a better time. I'd been doing a lot of gardening, and so my hands and cuticles were DRY - especially with the slightly cooler weather. This was just fabulous putting it on my hands and cuticles. It felt nourishing, occclusive, and felt like I didn't need to keep reapplying it in order to get the benefit of the product. I even enjoyed it as a lip balm! It's now a staple on my bedside table.”

“I adore this product. I have been using it non-stop for literally everything. As a lip balm that softens and moisturises my lips, smoothing my brows and keeping it in place, to applying on skin blemishes and rashes. I even used it on an uninvited cold sore. My mum used it on her entire face as a night cream, but I am not as brave yet. Any dry or flaky skin is no match for this cream. I honestly do not mind the smell or the thickness, because the pay-off is worth it. I have now put it into smaller containers for my handbag and on my desk at the office. 10/10, will use again and again. Thanks for allowing me to be part of this review.”

“I love a product that can be used for many things. A little of this product goes a long way, it is thick and has a greasy texture that is soon absorbed into dry skin. It's great for using on chapped skin, dry lips and even putting on cracked heels. When the kids come to me with a bite, sore or dry lips and noses this is the cream I use. I also use it on my hands by massaging into my cuticles. I also suffer from dry skin in my hairline and a little of this rubbed into my scalp is amazing. If you have dry skin or dry patches this is the cream you need for intense moisture.”
