While fashion week is about fashion (we couldn’t get enough of the ornate headpieces, bulky coats and bright-coloured accessories this season), we were pleasantly surprised about the eye looks that reigned supreme at the most recent Milan Fashion Week were cool and totally wearable. From simply looks created with eyeshadow to more intricate shapes drawn with liner, here are our favourite eye looks from Milan Fashion Week, and how to achieve each of them.
If you like: a classic winged liner look
The look at Philosophy Di Lorenzo Serafini Fall 2017 was glamorous without being over the top. With a liquid liner (like Urban Decay Perversion Fine-Point Eye Pen), draw a line straight over your lash line and extend it out to a flick. Thicken the line if you wish for a more dramatic finish.
If you like: a tonal look
Interestingly, the girls at Moschino Fall 2017 wore both beige and charcoal tones on their eyes. Get the look with one horizontal line drawn with Australis Eyeliner Pencil in Brown Devil to add depth to the eyelid, then apply the same pencil in Smoke to accentuate the lashline.
If you like: smudgy eyeliner
The girls at the Diesel Black Gold Fall 2017 show wore smoldering kohl liner paired with striking brows and a toned down complexion and lips. Get the look with CHANEL Le Crayon Khol Intense Eye Pencil, and use your ring finger to soften the lines.
If you like: a subtle wash of colour
Copy the look at Max Mara Fall 2017 and apply a light layer of pastel peach all over the eyelid. A creamy eyeshadow like shu uemura cream eyeshadow in beige works well for this case, as it blends effortlessly and stays put all day.
If you want: a graphic eyeliner look
Take inspiration from the Versace Fall 2017 and go with a rectangular shape across the eyelid, and take the colour along your lower lash line as well. An eye paint like Rimmel London ScandalEyes Waterproof Gel Eye Liner works well for this look - simply use an angled brush for a more precise application, and go.
If you want: highlighted eyes
Looking tired? Copy the look from Missoni Fall 2017 and bring your peepers to life with a silvery eyeshadow (like Giorgio Armani Eyes To Kill Solo Eyeshadow in 12) applied to the inner corners of your eyes.
If you want: a pop of colour
Interestingly, the girls at Salvatore Ferragamo Fall 2017 wore the same colour on eyes and cheeks. With a blush like NYX Powder Blush in Terra Cotta, apply the colour with a small fluffy brush over the eyes, and finish by patting the same colour onto cheeks with a larger brush.
