As if we didn’t already want to be Florence Pugh enough, the actress/kitchen whiz/all-around delight has now gone and secured herself a very covetable spot on r.e.m. beauty’s PR list. Wondering what r.e.m. beauty is? Ariana Grande’s beauty brand, of course!

One of the most brilliant things about Pugh, however, is that she realises just how exciting said status is, and so she took to Instagram Stories to unbox the whole thing, and let us live vicariously through every shadow swatch and lipstick swipe.

“I just got back home and received the coolest gift. I don’t know if I’m cool enough for it though Ariana?” she joked upon discovering it. Spoiler alert: the package’s contents were in fact cool, but so is Pugh, so we’d say it’s a pretty even match.

When we say ‘package’, though, we obviously don’t mean any regular old package – this is Ariana Grande and r.e.m beauty we’re talking about, so of course everything was space-themed.

“It’s a helmet with makeup inside,” Pugh explained, noting her affinity for the crafty concept: “I’m going to use this every day even when I take the makeup out. I’m going to find a way to wear it as a helmet. Who came up with this idea? I love it!”

Then, as any makeup lover naturally would, Pugh decided to morph her unboxing video into a full-blown try-on session. “Should I make this into a beauty tutorial?” she wondered aloud. “F*ck it, I’m going to do it.” Did we mention we love her?!

She kicked off with a lipstick in the shade ‘Wine and Dine’, and her initial thoughts re: the packaging were overwhelmingly positive: “I like how even the lipsticks have little helmets as well; they’re in space too.”

After pointing out that she thought the shade (a deep cocoa colour) “looked like tiramisu”, she swiped it straight on. “Ooh, I love,” she shared. "And it smells good too, it smells like chocolate. Oh I’m in love.”

That wasn’t it, though – she soon circled back with final thoughts on her newly beloved bullet. “Holy f*ck, that lip colour is cool. I love it – it also goes on so smooth and smells like chocolate, genuinely.” Rave review alert. It did look damn good on her, especially with her shaggy bixie cut.

Next up was illuminator. “I also just opened a very, very beautiful highlighter which I’ll apply right now because I think it’s going to make me look like Tinkerbell, and Tinkerbell at the moment is my style. Tinkerbell meets Bratz doll," Pugh revealed while prepping the powder. Her reaction to the shimmer she applied was pretty succinct (and similar to the lipstick review): “Oh I love it!”

Last on Pugh's ‘to try’ list was eyeshadow. “Now I’ve found the Babydoll Eyeshadow Palette. I want to do something fun – I’m going to do some apriot-ty sparklies across my eye,” she explained, swiping the shimmery shade straight onto her lid with her fingers. “I love it. Such a shame that party season is now over, except that now I’m going to be rocking up every day with this glam on, so it’s [actually] not.”

“Now I’m going to use this [deeper shimmer] to do some fun stuff,” she continued. “I don’t know what fun stuff will entail, but I just want sparkles.” She decided on a bit of chocolate-y crease-defining action, and it looked an absolute treat. “@arianagrande I love you. Obsessed,” she wrote alongside a video of herself showing off her stellar new shadow.

Pugh’s final look? A combination of chocolate lips, shimmery lids, and luminous cheekbones. She signed off with a confirmation that her new aesthetic had been officially unlocked: “I feel like I’m vibing with this twinkly thing. Wine and dine and twinkly thing… new vibe.” Sure sounds (and looks) like a vibe to us.
