We finally have a first look at Ariana Grande's beauty brand

Space-themed makeup? Yes please

Editor / December 15 2021

We’ll be the first ones to admit that although Ariana Grande may have one of the best ponytails in the game and eyeliner crisper than most, we did not see a beauty brand from the singer coming at all.

Following in the footsteps of Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty and Selena Gomez’s Rare Beauty as another hitmaker making the jump from albums to palettes, the 28-year-old is set to come out with her own line imminently.

Here’s everything we know so far.

What is Ariana Grande’s beauty brand called?

The name of the brand is “r.e.m Beauty”, confirmed shortly after eagle-eyed fans noticed the name being used for a placeholder Instagram account and website back in August.

“R.E.M” is one of the singles from Grande’s 2018 Sweetener album.

When will Ariana Grande’s r.e.m beauty launch?

As of October 29th Grande revealed via a vague Instagram post that “November” was the official month of launch. Then, on November 3rd, we received a trippy visual of a diamante-encrusted space boot with the caption: “prepare for launch… ‘soon’”.

And if that wasn’t enough anticipation for you, Grande gave one final tease, sharing an image of  herself decked out in space garb holding a lipstick ray gun. The caption?  “One week”. And if our maths is correct, that makes the official launch date November 12th, 2021 (prepare your debit cards kids).

Will Ariana Grande’s r.e.m beauty be available in Australia?

Although there’s no hard evidence as to whether r.e.m beauty will be available in Australia, we’re hoping Grande will follow the same suit as Fenty and Rare Beauty with a stockist on our shores.

What products will r.e.m beauty be launching?

The brand’s first product drop is aptly titled: ‘Chapter 1 - Ultraviolet’.

Grande teased the collection by category with an IG slideshow of each beautifully designed item: first there was eye makeup, then highlighter toppers and finally, lip products.

Some of the notable products from this debut include a neutral eyeshadow palette, a mascara (with a very interesting wand shape), false lashes, glitter liquid eyeshadow and frosty highlighters. Plus, there are lipstick bullets that look like mini astronauts and a galaxy-hued lip plumper.

What does the range look like IRL?

Lucky for those of us who like to try before we buy, Grande gave us a sneak preview of a few key products in the range with a full face of r.e.m beauty for the finale episode of The Voice.

The singer shared the exact products her makeup artist used as well, so if you’re looking to recreate this Ariana Grande-approved makeup look at home just follow these steps…

First things first, the impressive floating liner. Grande dipped into the “#midnightshadows eyeshadow palette in ‘babydoll’” for some subtle lid definition, but “#attheborderline kohl pencil eyeliner in ‘so mod’” is the real winner here.

The 28-year-old topped off the eye makeup with a coating of “#flourishing lengthening mascara in ‘midnight black’”, and “#dreamlashes in ‘eternally meowing’”.

As for the rest of the “Positions” singer’s makeup? She highlighted her impressive bone structure with a healthy topping of “#interstellar highlighter topper in ‘miss mercury’”. And her lips were kept nude and glossy with a combo of the “#onyourcollar matte lipstick in ‘bubbly’” and the “#utmostimportance plumping lip gloss in ‘clear’”.

We can’t wait to get our hands on the products so we can play around with creating pop star-level looks like Grande. Luckily, you can sign up to receive updates on the official drop at r.e.m beauty here
