Loose, voluminous waves are always on-trend. It’s a totally versatile and timeless hairstyle that can make your hair look thick and healthy, so you bet we’re big fans.
But truth be told, sometimes it can be a little tricky to master this look. And often you can end up being so focused on trying to make your hair look curly but not too curly, and messy but not too messy, that you completely lose your concentration and…bam! Say hello to your latest accessory - a glorious red styling tool burn.
Sound familiar? Well, you’re not alone. It looks like ex-The Bachelorette star Georgia Love knows the feels all too well.
In a recent Instagram post, she shared a car selfie of her perfectly sleek and polished waves, along with a very familiar stamp of hairstyling gone wrong. The ol’ curling wand burn.
She captioned the post, “Today’s adulting success story: Burnt my boob with my hair curler.” Ouch!
Sometimes beauty is pain.
Jokes aside, burns are serious business and special care needs to be taken when using heat tools otherwise you can end up with a pretty nasty looking scar. The most important thing: you need to treat the burned area straight away.
The next time you accidentally burn yourself with a hot tool, be sure to put a cool compress on the area ASAP. Removing the heat from the burn will stop the wound progressing and prevent it from affecting the deeper layers of the skin.
