The product

The cost of living is creeping higher and higher by the second, and as much as we love a luxurious beauty routine, we’re not willing to bankrupt ourselves for good hair.

Think we’re starting to stress about having to find dupes for our high-end haircare? Nope.

According to our Review Crew® members, the Herbal Essences Classics Hydrating Shampoo with Coconut Water and Jasmine and Herbal Essences Classics Hydrating Conditioner with Coconut Water and Jasmine are not only just as effective — they’re better.

The coconut and jasmine-scented shampoo and conditioner contains a variety of tropical essences and oils that work to hydrate and improve the overall health and appearance of hair. As a result, reviewers have reported that their hair feels smoother and softer, is easier to manage, and looks silky and shiny.

Here’s what our panel of Review Crew® testers thought about this budget-friendly shampoo and conditioner.

The panel

Beauty Crew sent the Herbal Essences Classics Hydrating Shampoo with Coconut Water and Jasmine and Herbal Essences Classics Hydrating Conditioner with Coconut Water and Jasmine to a panel of women aged 18 and older with dry hair.

The lowdown

Here’s what the Review Crew® loved about the Herbal Essences Classics Hydrating Shampoo with Coconut Water and Jasmine and Herbal Essences Classics Hydrating Conditioner with Coconut Water and Jasmine.

They were more effective than high-end hydrating haircare: Something that stood out in the Review Crew’s® reviews of the shampoo and conditioner was the continual comparison to higher-end haircare products. According to reviewers, Herbal Essences exceeded their expectations and their hair looked better after using the supermarket brand than it did using exxier options.

They improved the health and appearance of their hair: The hydrating duo helped to smooth, soften, and hydrate reviewers hair. It also improved overall radiance, silkiness, shine, and made detangling easier.

The affordable price point: The fact that the shampoo and conditioner retail for just $10.50 and they're available at the supermarket is an obvious bonus to a positive haircare experience.

The verdict

“My hair is frizzy and damaged due to colouring and heat styling and I would usually use hair masks to keep it from looking horrendous and make it look somewhat tamed. [Herbal Essences Classics Hydrating Shampoo and Conditioner with Coconut Water and Jasmine] is the first shampoo and conditioner that I have used in yearrrssss that actually seemed to improve the condition of my hair. My hair was noticeably less frizzy and felt softer as well. It has a lovely, fresh fragrance that lasts quite well in the hair. The bottles are a good design. I prefer these over pump bottles as I think you can get every bit out. Really impressed with these products. I would definitely buy this product again.”

“I really enjoyed [Herbal Essences Classics Hydrating Shampoo with Coconut Water and Jasmine], and that's a rare statement as I have a really sensitive scalp and oily hair. This shampoo didn't upset my scalp, and my hair definitely felt more hydrated after using (the conditioner also did a great job of reviving my dry ends). I really enjoyed the fragrance, it felt really high-end and luxe, and worked easily into a rich lather, cleaned my hair well, even on days where my hair was particularly sweaty from the gym or full of product. I would absolutely repurchase. For the cost, the packaging is exceptionally generous with the volume of product. I also recommend it to my family and friends as it is a great and enjoyable all rounder.”

“When I first saw the chance to review herbal essences I jumped at it. The brand, packaging and smell is so nostalgic to me as it’s what I used growing up! After years of loyalty to a particular “salon” shampoo and conditioner system and seeing no results I was looking forward to trying this and seeing how my hair felt afterwards. I’ve used [Herbal Essences Classics Hydrating Conditioner with Coconut Water and Jasmine] three times since receiving it and love it. My hair smells amazing and it’s shiny and soft without being over drying which is a concern for me as I have long thick balayage hair. A little goes a long way as well which is a great bang for my buck. Hubs used it also and said that he approves. I would definitely recommend this to others and would definitely purchase it again!”

“As someone who struggles with dry and frizzy hair, I was excited to try Herbal Essences Classics Hydrating Conditioner with Coconut Water and Jasmine. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed using this product. The fragrance is lovely, and I always feel like I'm getting a little aromatherapy session in the shower. What impressed me the most was how well the conditioner worked to hydrate and nourish my hair. The formula is rich and creamy, and it spreads easily through my hair, leaving it feeling soft and smooth. I've noticed a significant improvement in the health and appearance of my hair. It looks shinier and feels less prone to frizz and flyaways.”
