This supermarket shampoo and conditioner is less than $11 and it actually works too

Here’s what our Review Crew® had to say about this saviour for dehydrated strands

The product

Recently, we’ve been searching for ways to minimise unnecessary costs in our beauty routines.

We’re well-versed in budget makeup and we even have a few skin care products in our routine that aren’t too exxy.

But when it comes to haircare, we always thought we had to spend more in order to get more.

But according to our Review Crew® members, that’s just not the case.

They’ve been trying the Herbal Essences Classics Replenishing Shampoo with Rosehips, Vitamin E and Jojoba and Herbal Essences Classics Replenishing Conditioner with Rosehips, Vitamin E and Jojoba and they’ve been so impressed by them they’re converted.

The fact that the shampoo and conditioner can be picked up for less than $11 at our local supermarket is an obvious drawcard, but the ingredients list isn’t too shabby either.

The haircare duo utilises a blend of rosehips, vitamin E and jojoba to nourish and replenish moisture levels in the hair. With continued use, even damaged and dry hair will feel smoother, softer and easier to style.

Here’s what our panel of Review Crew® testers thought about this budget-friendly shampoo and conditioner.

The panel

Beauty Crew sent the Herbal Essences Classics Replenishing Shampoo with Rosehips, Vitamin E and Jojoba and Herbal Essences Classics Replenishing Conditioner with Rosehips, Vitamin E and Jojoba to a panel of women aged 18 and older with coloured, permed, dry, and damaged hair.

The lowdown

Here’s what the Review Crew® loved about the Herbal Essences Classics Replenishing Shampoo with Rosehips, Vitamin E and Jojoba and Herbal Essences Classics Replenishing Conditioner with Rosehips, Vitamin E and Jojoba.

The way they smoothed and softened strands: A number of reviewers in this trial were experiencing damaged hair due to bleaching and heat styling. But after using this shampoo and conditioner regularly they noticed their hair became softer and smoother.

It detangled dry, damaged hair: A few of our members said they usually struggle to comb their fingers through their hair but the shampoo and conditioner helped to detangle their manes.

The affordable price point: The only thing better than a haircare regimen that works? An affordable one. The shampoo and conditioner retails for less than $11 a bottle. A few of our reviewers shared that they’ll be picking up a few extra bottles at their next Woolies shop.

The verdict

“One of the things I love about [Herbal Essences Classics Replenishing Shampoo with Rosehips, Vitamin E and Jojoba] is its ability to gently cleanse my hair while also providing deep hydration. The vitamin E and rose hips work together to replenish and restore my locks, leaving them feeling silky smooth and incredibly soft (even the following day which sometimes is an issue as my hair can get quite frizzy). Not only does this shampoo provide amazing results, but it's also incredibly affordable. I'm always on the lookout for quality products that won't cost me an arm and a leg, and this one definitely fits the bill.”

“What a pleasant surprise to find a product in this price point that works as it says. I am a bottle blonde with some damage to the hair — so I am wary of cheaper shampoo. I was not expecting any noticeable results when asked to try [Herbal Essences Classics Replenishing Shampoo with Rosehips, Vitamin E and Jojoba] - but I am converted. The scent is lovely and afterwards my hair felt clean and fresh. I always blow dry after washing and found that my hair looked and felt wonderful the first time after using this product! I did wonder if this was simply because my hair was liking the "change" to something different - but I am still finding I love the feel of my hair after 3 weeks of using it (2-3 times per week). I still love my bougie blonde shampoo but would definitely recommend this as an option for those not wanting to pay lots of money all the time!”

“Um wow!!! What a conditioner. Considering I have dry, thick, bleach damaged hair and a million flyaways, [Herbal Essences Classics Replenishing Conditioner with Rosehips, Vitamin E and Jojoba] had its work cut out for it. It delivered and went above and beyond. Pairing with the great shampoo, it worked a treat. I ran my fingers through my hair which isn't usually easy to do with certain brands. The smell was delicious and my hair felt luscious. Blow drying after was great too. I am beyond impressed. You couldn't ask for anything more. This one is by far my favourite and your hair will thank you later!”

“I was so happy when Herbal Essences reintroduced [Herbal Essences Classics Replenishing Conditioner with Rosehips, Vitamin E and Jojoba] to their line up as it was a staple for me all through my teen years. Many years on and it still remains in rotation at my house. As far as supermarket conditioners go this is one of the best. It has great slip for detangling and it doesn’t feel like I need to use half a bottle for my long hair like some other brands. It’s a great choice if you have dry hair because it leaves it feeling soft and looking shiny. Can’t get enough of the smell either! A really great product and an unbelievable price.”
