Cheekbones? Please, that’s so last year

Just when you thought you had learnt all that you needed to about highlighting and achieving that luminous glow, BECCA Global Style Director Kerry Cole has stepped in to throw this curveball your way: “Don’t think to just highlight the highpoints of your face and that be it. Right now I’m digging the head-to-toe glow…like obsessed.”

Yep, according to Cole, highlighting is no longer just about how radiant your face looks, but your body, too. Here, she shares a few nifty tricks for highlighting your body for top-to-toe luminosity.

1

Highlight your shoulders and arms

“A lot of time for editorial or models, I’ll put highlighter on the ‘apple’ of their shoulder, so that when they turn, it just pops,” says Cole.

[Ed note: ‘Apples of your shoulders’ is not technically a term. Cole has coined it for where your shoulders round, and we think it’s pretty great, so we’re going to roll with it and think you should too.]

Cole suggests using a soft powder brush, like Nude by Nature Angled Blush Brush, to apply your highlighter on the apple of your shoulder, and then sweeping your brush down the outside of your arm. This will give your arms a subtle glow.

Highlight your legs

You know how you can apply your highlighter down the bridge of your nose to make it seem narrower? Same goes for your legs (and arms, like above, too). Simply highlight down the centre of your legs to make them not only look slimmer, but to give them a natural glow, too.

BECCA Shimmering skin perfectors

“I call it the skinny legs,” says Cole. Her favourite products to use for this? “I use [BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector Liquid Highlighter in] Topaz down the centre of my legs, then I layered with [BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter in] Champagne Pop.”

TOP TIP: For the best results in getting your body glowing, Cole recommends layering a powder highlighter over a liquid one, as the liquid will give the powder something to hold on to.

3

Highlight your clavicle

For those not up-to-date on their science lingo, the clavicle is more colloquially known as the collarbone, and Cole is calling it “the new cleavage.”

How to make it pop? Simply take your highlighter, a loose powdered brush and sweep the illuminating good stuff along the actual clavicle bone. Couldn’t be any easier.

Because highlighting your cheekbones will never go out of style, find out the new application technique that'll make your highlight POP.
