While questions surrounding her friendship with Kourtney Kardashian still stand, social media sensation Addison Rae has also piqued fans’ curiosity regarding the status of her beauty brand, Item Beauty.
After entering the market in 2020, the brand got its claim to fame with the viral lip oil/gloss hybrid, Lip Quip. Thanks to her TikToking efforts, Addison Rae invented an entire trend based on how she applies lip gloss while filming. Holding the tube between her teeth, her phone in one hand, and the gloss wand in the other; her quick ‘switcharoo’ garnered enough hype to rival the Dior Lip Glow.

See? Effortless. While we may not look as cool when applying gloss, if there’s one thing we can learn from her makeup videos, it’s that her product works.
Sadly, while in existence, the range was unavailable to purchase in Australia. Paired with its ongoing hiatus, as of January 2023, it seems like no one will be able to get their hands on the product for the foreseeable future.
Social media creator and medical esthetician Cassandra Bankson may have just answered fans’ prayers, however. Taking to TikTok, she revealed that the Covergirl Yummy Gloss is a better alternative. And did we mention it’s $20?
"It’s actually less expensive, better, and so good,” Bankson said.
"It is actually one of the prettiest glosses you’ve ever used but it’s like a lip oil and doesn’t come off when you eat either. It’s really long-lasting,” she continued.
