A step-by-step tutorial of Joey King’s wedding hair
Recreate her wedding locks at home
Joey King looked nothing short of breathtaking during her wedding festivities. Marrying director Steven Piet, the stunning The Kissing Booth star exchanged vows in an intimate Mallorcan ceremony on September 2.
As if she’d stepped straight out of a fairytale, King wore a custom scalloped Oscar de la Renta gown paired with an airy tulle veil and sparkling drop diamond earrings. Accompanying her stunning bridal fashion was some equally beautiful glam. Matching her gown, her scalloped French tips were thanks to celebrity manicurist Thuy Nguyen while her glowing makeup was at the hands of her longtime makeup artist Allan Avendaño. Most excitingly, her Rapunzel-like locks were styled by Dimitris Giannetos, who has shared a step-by-step tutorial on how he accomplished the look.

As with any fresh blowout, Giannetos started out on towel dried hair, spraying the roots with NEXXUS’ Unbreakable Care Root Lift Hair Thickening Spray ($38.79 at Amazon) for volume and protection against humidity.
The styling itself was made simple with GHD’s 2-in-1 Duet Style ($595 at GHD) which combines hair drying and straightening technology in one tool.
“It gives an amazing finish - it dries the hair [and] works as a straightener [to] keep the hair frizz-free. [It also] gives shine and softens,” the stylist wrote on Instagram.
Spraying the freshly dried and straightened hair with dry shampoo for extra texture, he added some romantic loose waves with the GHD Curve Soft Curl Tong ($270 at GHD).
To make everything seamless, he completed the look by combing out the fresh curls for a soft, elegant finish.
