"The sharpest eyeliner in TV history"

Picking a standout Maddy makeup look from the liner-laden world of Euphoria is like choosing a favourite Blackpink member; they’re all phenomenal, okay?!

And yet if we’re being super honest, her New Year’s Eve aesthetic was not only the first one we saw her rock in season 2, but it remained a standout all season long.

While practically everyone on the Internet has tried to recreate it, Alexandra French, the makeup artist who did Alexa Demie’s makeup on the show (under the incredible guidance of Euphoria makeup designer Doniella Davy) has taken to TikTok to share the exact products behind the look.

The eyes

“This eyeliner is the sharpest eyeliner in TV history and it took all three of us to do it," French shared. "Here’s how we got the look."

"I start off every makeup [look] with the NARS [Smudge-Proof] Eyeshadow [Base] in 'Light' ($39 at MECCA) just to give it an even base," she explained.

"The silver eyeshadow is [from the] Pat McGrath [MTHRSHIP Opulence Subversive] Metal-Morphosis [Eyeshadow Palette] ($106 at Sephora), and I used my finger to pick up the most pigment and then blended out with a brush."

"For the crease, I used a cool-toned Chanel eyeshadow palette. Don’t worry about any of the mess [of the shape], because we’re going to clean it up later with a q-tip and some concealer," French added. She didn’t specify exactly which palette she used, but we’re big fans of the Chanel Les 4 Ombres Multi-Effect Quadra Eyeshadow Palette in Modern Glamour ($114 at Myer).

"To make [the] silver eyeshadow really sparkle, I used a pigment by Spectrum Cosmetics that they don’t make anymore unfortunately, but you can easily replace that with the M.A.C Pigment called ‘Pearl’ ($38 at M.A.C, which FYI goes by ‘White/Pearl’ in Australia)."

Once your sparkle's in place, it's time to tidy: "Use a q-tip and concealer to get the desired shape," French confirmed.

Next? The wing, of course. "Draw on the eyeliner that best matches your eye shape and then use a waterproof eyeliner to make it stay all day. We used Inglot Cosmetics Waterproof Black Eyeliner [Gel] ($32 at Inglot)," she explained.

The lips

Was the liner the most iconic bit of the aesthetic? Yes. Do we still want to be able to copy the exact lip look? Yes, of course. Blessedly, French shared those products, too.

"As you can see by the size of the lip liner, this was a season favourite and we used it all the time. This is the Make Up For Ever Artist [Colour] Pencil in the colour ‘Endless Cacao’ ($29 at Sephora)," French noted. "It’s a cool-toned brown and works with any nude lipstick."

"We paired the lip liner with About Face [Paint It Matte Lip Colour] in the shade ‘Slumber’ ($37.62 at Cult Beauty) and then added M.A.C Lipglass [in] ‘Clear’ ($34 at M.A.C) on top."
