The product

While we love a set of false lashes and lash extensions from time to time, when it comes to a product that we can wear everyday, we prefer to reach for a mascara.

The lowdown

Here’s what the Review Crew® loved about the Max Factor False Lash Effect XXL Mascara.

The false lash effect it gave their lashes: Reviewers loved the fact that they could ditch their false eyelashes every now and again in lieu of a mascara that gave the exact same effect as a full set of falsies.

The smudge and flake-proof formula: Panda eyes are a big no-no in our books, and it seems our Review Crew® members tend to agree with us. The fact that the mascara formula was flake and smudge-proof put them at ease when they applied it everyday.

“Wow ... this mascara is soooo lengthening! I love it. The only downside I found, for me anyway, is I didn't get quite as much volume as I would have liked. However, the length I got was amazing and instant. Just 1 coat was enough for a fabulous lash. I will purchase this mascara when I run out. There was no flaking and my lashes looked just as good by the end of the day - HIGHLY recommend this mascara to anyone wanting long beautiful lashes that hold all day & that won't give you panda eyes.”

“If you're in the market for an everyday mascara, I highly recommend this one. You can choose how dramatic you'd like to make your lashes look. For everyday wear to the office I applied 2 coats on the top and bottom lashes, and then for evening or going out I applied 3 coats. The application was very easy, especially for my tiny bottom lashes which is where I often smudge. With this mascara I didn't seem to run into that issue. I loved when I applied to my top lashes and it helped lengthen and open up my eyes. I don't have thick or long lashes, so I really noticed a difference when applied to my top lashes. Overall a great mascara and one that doesn't smudge or drop residue throughout the day.”

“No clumping, it separated my eyelashes and gave them some volume… It is long lasting and didn't leave me with raccoon eyes - lasting pretty much all day - I didn't feel the need to use false eyelashes when using this product. It is really easy to remove - even with just warm water. It added a curl to my lashes, plus it goes on really smoothly and feels silky smooth to me. It does not dry out quickly, it's not 'grainy' with a fine, easy to use handle, interestingly shaped (thick to thin) brush. Once it dries, the XXL mascara feels light and airy - like you're not even wearing makeup.”
