All the incredible beauty moments from the 2021 Met Gala
It's back, baby

It may not be the first Monday in May (in fact, far from it), but considering it's been over two years since we've seen anyone gracing The Met steps (besides the stars of the Gossip Girl reboot, of course), we'll take the return of the iconic Met Gala on any damn day.
There's truly no other event like it. Sure, the Grammys are great, and Oscars day is a thrill, but only at this soirée would Priyanka Chopra show up in an architectural crown, Gigi Hadid with white eyelashes, and J.Lo with a dripping diamond headpiece. And those are just some of the incredible looks of the past.
So after years of Gala-less life, it's no surprise that the stars did not disappoint. From Maisie Williams to Emma Chamberlain, here are all the most incredible beauty looks from the 2021 Met Gala...
Palmer's smokey charcoal shadow cat-eye and side-parted down-do have certainly set the beauty bar high.
Chamberlain blended classic with contemporary, opting for a retro-inspired sleek style and a pop of neon green liner.
Peltz made her green eyes pop with a sultry feline flick, keeping the look modern with the addition of an inner corner reverse wing.
Liner that doesn't actually use liner? We love to see it. Garner created her cat-eye shape with sparkles instead. Chic.
Showcasing the first 'sculptural' hair look of the night, Williams stole the show with what appears to be a hair bow made of hair.
Ferreira did not come to play, showing off purple shadow, candy pink blush, a pearl hair accessory and a bronde wig (we think) all at once.
Old Hollywood glamour is new and epic once more, thanks to Eilish and her incredible Marilyn Monroe-esque vibe.
Shahidi's cocoa-coloured lipstick is downright stunning, but um, can we get a standing ovation for this hair, please?
Lil Nas X
2021 seems to be the year of crafty liner looks, huh? Lil Nas X just served some serious cat-eye game with this floating gold wing.
A red lip may be a timeless classic, but pair it with a sky-high sculptural updo like Hudson and you've got yourself a moment.
Reid truly said 'Euphoria star' with this glitzy graphic floating liner look. Her caramel-coloured crop cut is also utter perfection.
Paying homage to the one and only Bianca Jagger, Gerber went with classic side-swept waves and a neutral makeup palette.
Megan Thee Stallion
In a look she dubbed 'Megan Monroe' (accurate), Megan Thee Stallion's glossy lip and waves were only outshone (literally) by her chest highlight.
Beer matched her olive green shimmer shadow to her dress, and styled her waves into a centre-parted updo.
The rumours were all true: Rae is on the carpet, and she's BLONDE. Her makeup, however, was kept neutral to let the hair have its moment.
Nikkie de Jager
de Jager's makeup was done to the nines, of course, but wow oh wow, did this gold-and-floral headpiece steal the spotlight.
It's not easy to pull focus from chocolate brown hip-grazing hair, but hell, Deutch's iridescent lilac eyeshadow has done it.
Erivo delivered in all departments, of course, but we have to give a special shoutout to the diamonte-encrusted claws.
She may have sang "we'll never be royals", but TBH, Lorde looks like she could be backtracking on that statement with this chic crown.
Taking her brand new crop cut for a spin, Shayk kept her hair and makeup fresh and low-key to allow her floral bodice to take centre stage.
Baby bangs never looked so good; are voluminous fringes going to be the next big thing?! Bonus points for the red lippy, too.
We'll be having dreams about this tousled, textured pony for years to come. That and Ciara's smokey shadow wing, of course.
Hill kept her beauty look on the simpler side, with a classic cat-eye, nude lipstick and a chic chignon accessorised with a diamond headband.
Gossip Girl star Alexander went all out with a violet wing and frosted lipstick. And um, can we talk about her bone structure?! Hi, cheekbones.
Blunt's rosy lips and fluttery lashes are a delight, and after all, if you can't wear a galactic headpiece to the Met Gala, where can you wear one?!
Ever seen skin legitimately glisten before? Well, now you have. Bailey's tonal peachy-pink makeup and high pony are simply stunning.
There are hair accessories, and then there are hair accessories. Taylor's incredible glitzy woven rope falls into the latter, superior category, FYI.
Bieber went classic with centre-parted beachy waves, a slick of nude lipstick and barely-there lashes. Simple yet striking.
We're always down for a bit of blush draping, so Ora's pink cheeks (and matching pink lips) get an A+ from us. As does the sleek side-swept updo...
Why add a single hair accessory when you can adorn your entire head with floating gemstones like Keys? We're obsessed.
Speaking of astonishing architectural styles, Union's ponytail-turned-side-fringe is as innovative as it is incredible.
Tracee Ellis Ross
Leave it to Ellis Ross to rock the most showstopping hair look on the entire carpet. This is architectural mane magic at its very finest.
Rodrigo's jet-black floating liner may well be one of the most covetable (and surprisingly achievable) makeup looks of the night. Hallelujah!
No, we'll never stop talking about this next-level navy shadow and larger-than-life hair look from Nyong’o, but hey, thanks so much for asking.
Another star who kept things simple in the beauty department? Jenner, who seems to have discovered the perfect shade of pinky-nude lipstick.
Hats off (or on) to Lopez for this look; it appears to be an homage to old-school American cowboys, and damn, is it divine.
Architectural hair looks have certainly been a staple on this year's carpet, and Chan's braids-and-bangs combination is one of our absolute favourites.
Hadid's look? Periwinkle shadow, lots of lashes and a garnet-hued high pony that even Ariel herself would envy.
Stewart's strawberry blonde shade looks amazing styled into an elaborate pony, and the sculpted micro fringe is no doubt a standout.
We can always count on Kravitz to knock it out of the park every time; her 2021 look is what we like to call 'pared-back perfection'.
Say it with us: we do not deserve Hunter Schafer. The contact lenses, the hair, the spider. It's everything we love the Met Gala for.
We’re assuming that from here on out, when you google ‘how to look perfect in purple’, Cabello’s picture will pop up. As it should.
Only Kruger could make Lucius Malfoy’s signature ponytail chic, and that she has. The pop of neon pink is just a delightful addition to the look’s fun factor.
Ratajkowski has officially reignited our obsession with ‘babydoll eyes’. If you need us, we’ll be applying lashings of mascara to our lower lashes.
Welcome to ‘pastel pink heaven’, population Lily-Rose Depp. As for the hair, ‘undone’ never looked so undeniably gorgeous.
Give us a braid, a crown and a pop of berry lipstick and you’ve got yourself a winning trio. Qualley’s impeccable brows are just a fabulously feathery bonus.
It appears that Reinhart knows that fuchsia lippy is the way to our hearts. Glossy skin and smooth strands don’t hurt matters, either.
Add Froseth and her flawless feline flick to the list of ‘reasons why the cat-eye has made yet another comeback thanks to The Met Gala’.
Everyone else can stop trying; Saweetie has perfected the art of the sparkle-adorned side part. Also, drop the identity of this bronzer, glam team, we beg you.
Wet-look hair and scarlet shadow for the win. Delevingne has blessed us with yet another impeccable shadow wing we plan to replicate ASAP.
It’s hard to beat Harlow at the glamour game, especially when she has a glitzy gold headpiece on her side. And um, did she just bring bowl cut bangs back?
Low-key isn't exactly Musgraves' signature style, but hey, with her glossy hair and hazel eyes, sometimes a down-do and a little inner corner shimmer are all you need.
A tonal makeup look that matches your outfit and jewels? Hudson knows that's an age-old classic. The sleek chignon shows just how glowy her skin is, too.
All hail Normani, whose glamorous gold shadow (which yes, did in fact match her dress to a tee) gives a whole new meaning to 'metallic'.
Did Smalls and her perfectly coiffed crop just take our breath away? We can't talk about it yet, we're still trying to get our bearings back...
Bleached brows are still going strong, as confirmed by Steinfeld and her immaculate take on the trend. Speaking of immaculate, um, that hair.
The moment we've all been waiting for has arrived. Rihanna has hit the carpet with layered headpieces and a slick of oxblood lippy.
