While the Met Gala may be the biggest event of the year for bold beauty looks, there's no doubt that the Oscars are the winner in the 'just plain gorgeous' stakes. Because while getting dolled up is nothing new for the Hollywood crowd, Oscars night is on a whole other level.
To put it simply, it's the evening where statues are won, lives are changed, and (most importantly, of course) superb beauty trends are started.
And so, to make sure you don't miss a single fabulous hair and makeup moment, we're bringing you the best Oscars beauty looks right here, from the red carpet arrivals to the glamorous after-parties...
James was the picture of ethereal elegance with rosy shadow matched perfectly to her blush-coloured dress.
Ziegler went elegant and understated with tonal bronze makeup and a wavy updo. It's both subtle and striking all at once.
Scott teamed a classic winged liner and nude lipstick look with a cool-girl side-parted sleek style.
King Richard star Singleton made it crystal clear: fishtail braids and hair accessories are back in a big way.
Hudgens' combo of choice? A coffee-coloured lip, a strong brow and an elaborate centre-parted updo.
Carson served serious 'Old Hollywood movie star' energy with a cat eye and sleek strands (with a statement side swoop).
Becky G kept things classic but cool, coupling smooth, glossy waves with winged liner and fluffy lashes.
Haim proved that when your skin looks this good, sometimes mascara, blush and a rosy lippy are all you need.
Oscar nominee (and now winner) Debose rocked a chic crop and a charcoal smokey eye.
Kardashian opted for a statement hairstyle, embracing a wet-look sleek effect from roots to ends.
Bailey swept her strands into a (stunning, may we add) updo, putting her radiant skin on full display.
Megan Thee Stallion
Megan Thee Stallion's baby hairs were laid to absolute perfection, and her winged liner was just as epic.
Kravitz's makeup was on the subtle side, but her side-swept baby bangs stole the show anyway.
Bailey's incredible hair look was a work of art all its own, as was her shimmery purple shadow.
Eilish's jet black bob looked chicer than ever, and nobody does thin black liner better than her.
Hough was one of the few who did a stunning statement lip, painting her pout a vivid scarlet hue.
Zegler may have just started a fresh asymmetrical trend, with both sides of her hair flipped to her right.
Zendaya convinced us that silver shadow is in fact modern, cool and breathtakingly beautiful.
Stewart may be an Oscar nominee, but she's still the same 'undone beachy waves' queen we've always loved.
It almost seems a crime to cover up such a gorgeous glam look, but Taylor-Joy's mesh veil only added to her aesthetic's drama.
Bieber put her glam game into neutral with toffee tones over eyes, lips, cheeks and even hair. Low-key beauty at its very finest.
Hudgens (literally) let her hair down for her second look of the night, rocking tousled waves and a little drama on the eyes.
We don't know what we're more obsessed with: the bleached blonde space buns or the fabulously fluffy brows. Okay fine, it's the buns!
Turner hit the carpet with some of the best eyeliner wings we've ever seen. Oh, and her gorgeous garnet hair colour. Oh, and a pregnant belly. What a moment!
Apatow took it upon herself to convince us that brick is obviously the lipstick colour to try right now. We love the beachy bend she's put through her hair, too.
Daddario was one of the few who rocked red lippy, but boy did she do it well. The blush application is very much on point as well.
Aboah's coppery brown curls were the scene-stealer, sure, but can we also get a little commotion for the skin?! No-makeup makeup is stunning on her.
Sweeney made quite the splash with a new set of wispy bangs; a faux fringe perhaps? We'll be waiting with bated breath to find out.
Edgar-Jones' aesthetic was all about effortless cool factor, with centre-parted waves, a slick of black liner, and a peachy pink lip.
Have you ever laid eyes on a more perfect ponytail?! Jenner's copper hair hue was enhanced gorgeously by matching extensions swept up into a glam pony.
Kardashian was also in the pony club, pairing her hip-length version with matte foundation, winged liner and a latte lip.
Ratajkowski went for a rock chic vibe with kohl-rimmed eyes and disheveled waves. Lesson learnt; nothing makes chocolate peepers pop like jet black waterlining.
Schafer took 'tendrils' to a whole new level, with statement sections on show and the rest of her hair slicked down. As for the silver to charcoal gradient cat eye? Immaculate.
Steinfeld stepped out with lighter locks; she's basically a bronde now! She kept her look fresh and simple, with loose waves and a copper eye.
Mendes chose to keep her look low-key, just adding a little liner to her eyes and a little gloss layered over a nude lipstick. Mini wings for the win, right?
Ferreira's snatched pony put all the attention right where it should be: on her next-level copper cat eye and glossy pout.
The hair game doesn't get much more glam than Hosk's tendril-adorned updo, and whoever contoured her cheeks should win an award of their own.
Harrier may just get our vote for 'best beauty moment'; it's hard to top a look as genuinely jaw-dropping as this. Nude tones and curly bobs forever.
On the other hand, Condor reminded us just how much we do adore cherry lipstick. She kept the colour classic by pairing it with an updo and a sophisticated sweep of liner.
Stewart swept her hair up into a tousled topknot for the evening's later festivities, while also switching her earlier cooler tones for warmer ones on eyes.
