Meet the beauty hotspots of the west coast

Usually known for its warm weather and dry heat, Perth took us by surprise during a recent visit; we were floored to see so many impressive beauty hotspots for all your hair, face and nail needs. Here are our favourite beauty destinations in Perth to be pampered in.
Best for: any hair service
When it comes to finding a salon that does it all - we’re talking cuts, colour, and blow-dries - you can’t go past Maurice Meade, who has been in the hair biz since 1974. They also have nine locations in Perth and are previous L’Oréal Professionnel Colour Trophy National Finalists, so you know you’re in good hands.
Best for: a spa treatment
Looking for a luxurious oasis in the heart of Perth? You seriously can’t go past The Ritz-Carlton, with sweeping views of the city, Elizabeth Quay and the Swan River. A booking at the spa is a non-negotiable, as they’re just one of two locations in the western seaboard that offer Biologique Recherche treatments that are equal parts relaxing and effective in improving the quality of your skin.
Best for: a customised mani
House Of Ten is a creative nail salon that can fulfill your wildest manicure dreams. Nail art costs from $1 to $15 per nail depending on the design, so we highly suggest going into the salon and speaking to a technician about your ideal nail look. (Image credit: Elle Borgward)
Best for: a makeup application
You can’t go past Mecca Cosmetica for all your beauty needs, especially a makeup application before a big event or ‘just because’. MECCA Forrest Chase is super central in Perth, and offers everything from a quick false lash application or eyeshadow looks (Express Eyes) to a one-on-one lesson to get the lowdown on any makeup look. Products are also redeemable for the cost of the appointment, which is super handy if you’re looking to update your beauty kit at the same time. (Psst… in-store services have temporarily been paused, but they’ll be back up and running post March 31).
Best for: updating your blonde
With an Instagram account *this* pretty, you know you’ve picked the right place if you’re wanting to brighten up your blonde or get a full head of highlights. Best of all, the team at Studio Lioness use Redken hair colour, and we highly recommend trying the new Shades EQ Gloss, which is a demi-permanent colour that can boost shine and keep brassiness at bay.
