Sometimes, when you really WANT to try a new skincare regime, you are stopped from doing so by the fact that 1:buying all full sized products, only to find it's not for you,is exxy and a shocking waste,OR, 2:sample sachets don't have enough product in them to get a true picture of what the item can do for you.So what is a happy medium to get past this ? THIS set from Dermalogica.
With a collection of five products from the AGE smart range ( the Skin Resurfacing Cleanser, the Antioxidant HydraMist, the Dynamic Skin Recovery SPF30,the MultiVitamin Power Firm, the MultiVitamin Power Recovery Masque and the Renewal Lip Complex) that will last you a few weeks (it states that this kit will last a month, but it use it pretty liberally,so two weeks of daily use was it for me),you are sure to get an idea as to whether this is for you or not (there are about 8 other kits to try,so you are bound to find something that works for you). But at around $80 for a set of 30ml,15ml,10ml and less than 5ml samples,is it worth it ? I am going to go out on a limb here and say "I'm not so sure".The products (most of them anyway) come in travel sizes and are around $20 each,so the $80 here does add up,but somehow i think that going through and choosing some products from different ranges in Dermalogica may be another option. And what of the items here ?
The lather that comes with the skin resurfacing Cleanser is gentle, soothing and not at all drying. It removed makeup well, and left me feeling ready for other products. Then, one or two times a week i apply the multivitamin power recovery masque to my face and throat, then after 10 minutes,i remove with warm water. It leaves the skin deep cleansed, smooth and radiant, with a real "been at the spa" look .Post masque,i spritz antioxidant hydramist all over, and then sweep away excess with a cotton beauty round. After that, during the day,i apply the dynamic skin recovery SPF50 to face and neck, prior to sun exposure, and i sometimes mix it with a foundation to add a little "glow".Lastly, i apply the multivitamin power firm around eyes, making sure i am concentrating on areas of dryness and age related lines, and the lip complex i keep with me all day to use as a balm "with benefits" under my lipsticks.Together,it all adds up to a lovely feel, and, with time, some improvements to skin texture and appearance.
So,to finish,i must say that i am happy with this as an idea, but would likely go out and customise a set with products i really want to try within the Dermalogica line.
TIP:Keep the hydramist in the fridge during summer for use to cool off during a sweaty night, keep the masque in the same place to calm and soothe an over sunkissed visage at the end of the day.
I really love the age smart range and for anyone who’s interested in delaying the signs of ageing, I would recommend you check this out. These kits are great value and have enough product for you to really be able to test the efficacy of the whole range for you over more than a few days. It’s a great way to explore this really effective skincare range.
While I’ve seen people say it’s very expensive, a lot of the products are really long lasting and concentrated enough to make them go a really long way. Not all but many of the products last me for months even with daily use.
