Dior Miss Dior Originale Eau de Toilette

The original Miss Dior Eau de Toilette was one of my first favourite fragrances and brings back memories of venturing into the adult world, going out to nightclubs with my grown-up, classy fragrance, and discovering that beauty  products could enhance my confidence and make me feel wonderful. Miss Dior Originale has been reformulated since then, but they have not changed the original formula in any discernable way. Thank goodness, it is still the same original chypre floral as it was, just oozing sophistication with the top note of exotic and mildly spicy galbanum giving way to sweet and lingering scents of jasmine and patchouli.  For an eau de toilette Miss Dior Originale is incredibly long-lasting, accustomed as we are to light and almost fruity scents that disappear after a few hours. Even the glass bottle with it's original Dior houndstooth design creates the aura of something expensive and classic. I have expanded my fragrance wardrobe since those early days and wear a range of perfumes, to suit my mood and the occasion. But I always come back to the original Miss Dior to project confidence and sophistication  - there are simply few modern scents that can match it.

My mum owns this perfume and would spray it on all the time when I was a kid so I have super fond memories of this scent. The fragrance is clean and subtle and feels very vintage and timeless - definitely not like any of the perfumes I've owned in the past. This is an incredibly classy and bold scent, made for confident and elegant women looking to make a statement with their perfume. It features a top note of galbanum which is gorgeous and unique, and the jasmine middle tones come through nicely to soften the scent and make it more feminine. The smell of the patchouli base notes are just subtle enough to blend in perfectly. This is a very beautiful and nostalgic perfume, absolutely timeless
