Elizabeth Arden Flawless Start Hydrating Serum Primer

I am obsessed with this product! After using it for a few weeks I have seen such a difference to my skins texture and tone. I have quite dry skin in winter and found this product really helped me apply my foundation flawlessly and keep my skin hydrated. I actually liked putting a few drops on my skin before moisturiser but then also mix it into my foundation as well which works wonders. It easily absorbs and its nice knowing I can limit the amount of products I add to my skin and simplying my skincare routine a lot more.

This time saver is one miracle product combining conditioning beads and hyaluronic acid with a foundation primer! Multitasking perfection for the busy woman, I love that I can condition and hydrate my skin whilst also protecting it from my foundation! I have sensitised and dehydrated skin, and often too busy to use a primer and serum so this saves me so much time in the morning. The Elizabeth Arden hydrating serum primer is beautifully packaged in an elegant rose pink glass bottle with an easy and convenient pump dropper. I only needed 3-4 drops to get full coverage and it was perfectly comparable with my foundation and made application so much better. The texture is thick with small beads that compress when rubbed, and the smell is luxurious and divine like a beautiful floral perfume. The serum melts into a water like consistency and absorbs well into my skin. I have used a lot of high end primers and this is definitely one of my favourites!

This primer gets four stars from me as I have to deduct a star for the packaging, The suction dropper is not very effective at collecting the product and dispensing adequate amounts into the hand ready for application. It’s a fiddly process in the morning trying to suction this primer up. I would much prefer a simple pump dispenser. The serum primer itself, I was very impressed with. I noticed that my makeup applied better when I used this primer and that my skin wasn’t as dry. I also detected that makeup didn’t settle into pores when applying this before. This primer has a gel like consistency and is absorbed well into the skin, it doesn’t cause a shiny film or feel like it’s just sitting on top of the skin. It has a pleasant light fragrance but it’s subtle and in no way overpowering. I liked that it’s suitable for all skin types as it doesn’t cause breakouts and contains hyaluronic Acid to provide moisture. I would recommend the product for what’s inside but if your not quick like me using a pipette, you might get frustrated with the container.

The flawless start hydrating serum primer comes in a clear glass bottle which allows you to see the beautiful pink bubbly looking serum from the outside, oh so pretty! It comes with a push in button with a dropper to dispense the product. The size of the product is 25mls which I did take notice to as the usual size of serums I use is 30mls minimum but as it is a serum primer maybe as a makeup product 25mls is the minimum or average size, still I would prefer it to be 30mls with a rrp of $50. After applying a few drops of the serum to my fingertips I noticed the pink colour is translucent, the texture feels light, it moves with ease and bursts onto the skin making it very easy to apply to my face. It smells sweet and slightly floral but it is quite subtle and does not linger once applied to the skin. I just love the feeling of the serum primer on my face, this is the first multipurpose skincare primer I have ever used and just love it. It feels like a lovely hydrating serum leaving my skin feeling soft and subtle. The gel like consistency that also has droplets oil in the hydrating serum (bubble effect) absorbs so well into my skin after a few strokes to massage it into my skin it’s almost as if it disappears leaving my skin soft, hydrated, with a beautiful glow and ready for foundation application without leaving any stickiness or residue left. I think it’s great that this primer is not just a makeup primer but it is also formulated as skincare to look after your skin at the same time I love a two in one with the added benefit of hyaluronic acid it is any skin care lovers dream primer having the added benefits of this ingredient to help improve skin tone and restore the skin’s youthful glow. After a few weeks of use the serum primer really prepped my skin well for use under foundation, my makeup lasted really well it didn’t not seperate, go dry or crack, it stayed hydrated and lasted for the whole intended time of use. I admit I have also used it under moisturisers and Spf on days I have not worn makeup because I just love the way it makes my skin feel after using it. I would recommend this serum primer to everyone, and will continue using myself I am so happy I discovered this product.

I've tried alot of primers but not many have been as hydrating as this one from Elizabeth Ardern. I was super lucky to receive a VIP beauty box last month. This was one of the products in the box that I really enjoyed. This primer was beautifully packaged in a box and inside is this glass jar where you can see a glittery liquid. That's the hyaluronic beads that melt into my skin. I wasn't even expecting a dropper applicator, I normally use products that have a pump or a tube to squeeze through. This is a first for me. I squeezed a few drops onto the back of my hand and the primer is a clear thick liquid. It glides lovely onto my skin and absorbs nicely too. Applying makeup on top is a breeze and I can see how I don't even get dry patches on face. This normally happens as I have dry skin. I am in love with this primer, it's such a multi tasking product!

This package is so beautiful glass bottle and the primer looks it self like tiny jell balls when you look through the packaging. This serum pretty light pink in colour. The fragrance is quite nice not over powering smell. It is light weight and gel like texture easily glide on the skin. It soaking to the skin really well. Not sticky after application. My make up sits really well on it. The bottle will last quite long as little product goes long way and the consistency is really nice. It doesn't make any irritations or breakouts on my skin. But i feel like the package need to be improve. It is hard to pick the serum by using the dropper. I happened to go 3 to 4 times to get enough serum for the whole face. I like this primer as it is super hydrating, refreshing makes my skin instantly smooth. This really helps to improve and restore a youthful skin glow when i use it every day. I would highly recommend this multitasking serum primer to anyone.

The Elizabeth Arden Flawless Start Hydrating Serum Primer comes in a 25ml glass bottle with a press button pump. The Hydrating Serum Primer has a thick gel-like texture (almost jelly like until you touch it then it bursts into a lightweight formula), is a transparent pink colour and you can see microfluidic droplets – fancy for tiny droplets of oil in gel which looks very different to anything I've ever seen before. It definitely stands out from all other primers. I also love the smell of it. It smells very luxurious but subtle. As I'm massaging it in I can feel it nourishing, hydrating and soaking in. It glides onto my skin so effortlessly. I find 2 drops is enough as it is thick. My skin type is combination and I am all about hydration. But for anyone with oily skin it might be too hydrating as there are oils in the formula but for me my skin soaks it right up. I find that it gives my skin an intense boost of hydration and leaves my skin glowing. It soaks into my skin quite quickly and doesn't feel tacky afterwards and doesn't have that silicone feeling either. I then went in and applied my foundation with a flat top buffing brush and it slipped straight on and my skin looked so dewy. My skin was glowing through the foundation. I wouldn't say that it blurred my pores though but it definitely provides a great smooth base and hydrates the skin ready for makeup. I love it.

Gorgeous primer. I love the packaging, so pretty. The dropper is brilliant because I can directly add it to the areas on my face. A little goes a long way with this one. I only needed a very little to cover my face. It makes my face a perfect canvas to add foundation. My skin felt very hydrated and almost velvety. It helps my foundation apply very smoothly and evenly. Love how soft it made my skin feel. Highly recommended this. Such a gorgeous primer. It's my new favourite got my sister into it as well.

This is a beautiful skin serum/primer. It’s great value for money as a little goes a long way so it really lasts. It is a little bit difficult to get out as the dropper would pick up an oily serum easily but this is a gel like consistency. However I get amazing results with this. It’s super hydrating and leaves my skin really soft and smooth and as a primer it leaves a lovely base for makeup. I have more mature skin and this makes it look and feel more youthful, it helps disguise fine lines and reduce the appearance of pores. I have quite sensitive skin and this serum never irritates. A great product I absolutely love.

I really like this serum/primer BUT it has been a nightmare getting the product out of the bottle until I've used quite a lot. It is a gel rather than a liquid and has a no touch eye dropper which, for some unknown reason didn't want to pick up the gel easily. It should have been simple, just press down on the nob and draw the gel up but until I'd used it for some time it took several goes before I had enough product to do my face, hence a 4 star, not a 5 star review. It is a beautiful serum that also contains a primer and feels so soft and lovely on. I have incredibly sensitive skin, I'm in the "mature age grouping" and have had no issues whatever with this. It moisturises beautifully and feels comfortable through the whole day. It works well under any makeup, drying easily with no stickiness. Made in France, which is a major plus for me. NO alcohol is another major plus.
