Kiehl’s Rice & Wheat Volumizing Conditioning Rinse

I bought this along with the matching shampoo for a holiday to Thailand. The bottles are just the perfect size for travel, plus I wanted to try Kiehl’s hair products after loving their skin products. Since I was travelling to Thailand where the humidity just makes my hair a limp and lifeless mess, I chose this Rice & Wheat version to make sure my hair had some omphf to it.   Before heading off on holidays, I gave this a couple of trial runs - there’s nothing worse than trying out new products when on holidays because essentially you are stuck with them for the duration of your trip even if you hate them, unless you want to take precious holiday time to scour places for a replacement product.   The consistency is quite thick and when it goes on the hair it isn’t easy to spread around, even on wet hair. It didn’t coat my hair nicely, and my hair felt in fact drier during and after application (not a good sign). After rinsing out and drying, my hair was even limper and it didn’t seem to have washed out properly. It also left my hair very dry on the ends. I had to do a vinegar and water rinse to get rid of the residue, then condition again with my normal conditioner. Also the smell leaves a lot to be desired, I’m not sure how to explain it, but it is not particularly pleasant and the smell remains in the hair. In addition, the little bottles,while cute, are made of hard plastic so that the product is difficult to squeeze out.   Unfortunately this product receives abig thumbs down from me. Also for the price, it ended up being one of my mostdisappointing purchases of the year.
