Lancôme Génifique Night Repair

As with a lot of high end products, I end up trying them when they come in a gift with purchase. I ended up really loving this night cream and used it all up, which is not something I usually do. Firstly, I don't think I would have bought a night cream before trying this one. It's just something I didn't think was necessary and always thought it was just a way to sell more product. However, as I use a moisturiser with SPF during the day, a cream for night was something my routine was missing. Most of the other night creams I have tried have been really thick and left my skin greasy in the morning. The Lancome night cream has a light texture and absorbs well, meaning it doesn't get on my pillow and I don't wake up looking like an oil slick. I have breakout prone skin so I am always cautious about heave products for fear of them giving me pimples and milia spots. The generous sample pot gave me a couple of weeks of use and I didn't breakout at all. I am not sure I believe all the hype about this being 'youth activating' but it definitely leaves my skin plump, moisturised and looking refreshed when I wake up. I think it had a positive effect on some file lines, at least smoothing them out by plumping up my skin with moisture.  This cream has more of a gel consistency, it's not heavy at all and doesn't sit on the skin. It has a very mild scent, which is perfect for me as I don't like my products to be highly fragranced.  I used this after using the matching serum and I found it perfect for my oily skin. I think it would suit someone with oily, combo or normal skin, but might not quite be enough for someone with dry skin. I have taken one star off for the price and for the jar packaging. It's a very nice night cream and I am sure it would last a long time but $142 is a lot of money, and jars are not the best way to keep ingredients stable. 

I got on to Lancome Génifique from stealing my mother's skincare! The whole range is really amazing, it's ultra moisturising without feeling heavy! I also love the smell and feel of the Night Repair cream, it's a great addition to my bedtime ritual!
