Neostrata® Clarify Exfoliating Mask

I wasn't sure what to expect before I used this mask. I was initially wary of a leave-on AHA mask, worried it would be really strong and damaging to my skin. But I was pleasantly surprised by how gentle it was. This product has a thick, gel texture with no scent. It felt fine on my skin with none of that sort of crinkly, second skin texture some products tend to leave. After about 7 minutes, I applied my regular evening moisturiser. I woke up to soft, clear, and glowing skin. I had a few breakouts at the time of using the mask, and it didn't aggravate them or really reduce them much. I think with extended use of this range some of my acne scarring will reduce too. I think I will incorporate this as a weekly or fortnightly element in my routine.

I had a few bad breakouts this month and this was a really great way to easy and gentle way to help manage it all. It also helped that it could work its magic all while I slept! It has a thick gel consistency but absorbed really quickly into the skin. I then layered on a thick moisturiser to lock it in for the night. I have ended up using it a couple times a week because its so easy to use and include in my overall routine. And obviously I am seeing some good results so want to make sure i continue to use regularly.

This is honestly one of the best AHA masks I have ever tried. I am aware of Mandelic acid as a product and have used it before in the form of a serum, but never as a mask. I found out the serum product I used (by a different brand) quite underwhelming, but I am totally falling in love with this mask! One of my favourite characteristics about this mask is the gel texture. It is so nice and light and easy to apply. I apply it before bed after my serums but before my creams, and wash it off in the morning. On the nights that I use this (2-3 times a week), I can actually see some light skin peeling the next day, mostly around my hairline. I don’t say this as a negative; I’m saying that I take this as a sign that the product is working! Overall, I do need more time to play around with this product, how frequently to use it, etc, but so far I am very impressed! Quick side note: don’t forget to layer on that SPF on the days after using this!!

I would have to say this is my least favourite product in the range. When using all products as a complete routine, I found this last step too much for my skin to handle. All products have mandelic acid and found I had better results when leaving this mask out. However, when used without the rest of the range on it's own as a spot treatment of sorts, I found made significant improvements to any present or emerging acne, as well as keeping skin clear and preventing it from getting too oily. I most likely will not use or purchase this again.

The Neostrata Clarify Exfoliating Mask is a very interesting product; overall I really liked it, it definitely helped to control my oil and shine without stripping any necessary hydration. It soaked in really nicely and I wasn’t worried about it coming off on my pillows when I went to bed. There was no stinging, breaking out or redness for me, I found it really gentle. My one negative is mainly down to the packaging - I found it surprisingly difficult to apply as it’s meant to be painted or patted on rather than rubbed in and I wish the brand has either put it in a pot to be scooped out or included a plastic or silicon spatula as it’s difficult not to rub the product in when using fingers.

This exfoliating mask is a star product. It is quite unique, different to all the masks I am used to. It is not like the usual wash off mask. It dries fast within 5 minutes without leaving any evidence of it on your skin. It has got a gel like formula. You only need a pea size amount to apply. It kind of gets absorbed onto your skin. I found this mask brilliant to use at night and then wash it off in the morning. This mask is kind of a leave in mask. It is very gentle mask. Does not tingle and does not cause any dryness on the skin. After I wash off the mask in the morning, my skin feels so fresh and clean. My skin is also so clear without any congestion or breakouts which my skin is usually prone to. It also leaves the skin so smooth and supple. If you want to prep your skin and want an instant refresh of your skin, I like to apply a very generous layer on my skin and leave on for about ten minutes. I then wash it off and I can instantly see the amazing result of my skin looking brighter and so fresh. It is like a mini facial with instant results of seeing your skin exfoliated and smooth. Love this mask so much , a winner in my opinion.

This is the first overnight mask I've tried and it has been a positive experience. It comes out as a clear gel that you apply and let it dry for about 15-20 minutes, after that you put on a moisturisers on top and leave it on overnight. In the morning the surface of your skin is bone dry (from the mask mind you, not your actual skin). It is a little flaky but not very noticeable so you could wear it for a little longer and not look like a freak in public, to you know run out the door to collect the mail ;) After it's been on overnight I wash it off with the matching cleanser. My skin feels soft and clean without being overly dry. It is very gentle and can be used on days after your skin is sensitive from prescription medication.

As a powerful mask that works best at night, i've enjoyed the regime of my nightly skincare and using this mask as the first layer. It is now a habitat that i'll grab the bottle and apply once a week and leave this on overnight. With the percentage of NeoGlucosamine in this mask, I find the results for clear skin really impressive and i could see affects after 2 weeks of use. I was using less than a teaspoon each week and left this to sink in, following the instructions. For those looking to see how their hyperpigmentation, large pores and oily skin this will be a great product to use.

I have extremely oily skin which gets oily again even after a few hours of doing my skincare but since I’ve added this to my night time routine I’ve noticed an overall decrease in oil, blackheads and acne. It sinks into the skin really nicely and when I rinse it off in the morning my skin looks bright and clear. It has an extremely slight alcohol smell which dissipates within seconds. The size of the bottle is quite large so it will last a while so the price is quite good. I think this would work on most skin types.

Neostrata Clarify Exfoliating Mask is a really interesting and unique product that got my attention. I have not seen a thick night time mask like this before. I use it at night, once or twice weekly before bed. I use the other 3 products in the range in the morning. It is incredibly thick, I apply it with my fingers and it is worn as a bed time mask. I appreciated that this range was fragrance free and also appreciate that the brand uses scientifically based active ingredients such as neoglucosamine. I wake up to clear, soft and baby smooth while using this product as part of the Neostrata system. I would recommend the Neostrata Clarify Exfoliating Mask.

I am 38 years old with oily/dehydrated skin occasionally and I get a couple of pimples. My main concerns are pores, pigmentation & skin texture (acne scars) I’ve been interested in NeoStrata products for a while and I was delighted to finally have an opportunity to try their products. I love using the mask as a last step of night-time skincare routine. I always choose the hydrating overnight mask not exfoliate one. That’s why I was really curious to try this exfoliate mask especially for how dry or hydrate my skin for following morning. Application : even layer on clean skin. Wait 5-10 minutes then apply a moisturizer. Rinse with water in the morning. My skin type is not dry, but I want to avoid letting my skin dry/dehydrated from this exfoliate during the night, I apply a thin layer of moisturizer for a few times to protect. I’ve been using this overnight mask for a few weeks but not once has my skin been tight/dry/dehydrated the following morning - which is amazing. My skin loves the mild exfoliate from this product. I don’t experience any sensitivity, dryness nor peeling. After rinsing in the morning, my skin is plumping, hydrating & clear. This mask contains 8% NEOGLUCOSAMINE which I’ve never heard of before. NEOGLUCOSAMINE is superior amino sugar that aids in resurfacing and brightening skin. It’s proven to boost surface cell turnover 10x faster than skin that’s untreated. Also it’s effective in plumping and hydrating skin cells for a luminous complexion. It sounds like that we can get the benefit all mixing together from Vitamin A & Hyaluronic Acid. The last a few weeks my diet has been very bad and I have only had one small pimple under my chin. Surprisingly it healed very quickly and I believe it’s because of NeoStrata Clarify skincare range. I highly recommend this exfoliate mask if you have pimples but sensitive skin. It’s gentle & effective. I recommend for pigmentation skin as well. Overall, I really like this product. Great formula and I’ll definitely continue to use this product.

I love all the products of Neostrata including these Exfoliating masks. After I cleaned my face with Mandelic Clarifying Cleanser, I apply the Clarify Exfoliating Mask, I feel my skin more smoother with this mask, hydrating, firmer, the pore much more minimised, I used it twice a week. I still can not see a difference in the appearance of the acne marks. The formulation with neo glucosamine helps healthy-looking skin and is very gentle effective exfoliator and fragrance-free, oil-free. The size is big and it is worth the price. I give it a thumb up and recommend it for oily/acne-prone skin.

This gel mask has visibly reduced dark blemish marks on my chin! I have used it every other night for the past 4 weeks, instead of using a vitamin C serum, and the difference is amazing. A little quantity goes a long way and I like that very little comes out when I squeeze the tube. It's written in the packaging you should apply a moisturiser 10 min after this mask, but after forgetting a couple of nights and noticing no difference, I started skipping the moisturiser step. I have used it with 3 other products in this range - the mandelic clarifying cleanser, oily skin solution and mandelic mattifying serum - and haven't had a single pimple or white head since I started using them, which has never happened to me since I reached puberty 16 years ago! I'll definitely be repurchasing this mask.

Not your typical mask as you leave it on overnight. I apply a thick layer of the product on to a clean face and it very quickly absorbs into your skin (I was imagining your typical clay mask leaving a thick cast and inevitably leaving half on your pillow... but it's not!). It is very gentle despite being an exfoliatior however I have been only been using 2-3 times a week maximum, along side the other products in this oily skin range & a prescription retinol. All of which work very well together. My oily skin has definitely got a lot better, and overall is a lot easier to manage since I have using all the products within this range. Of which I will be very thankful to have discovered when summer comes around. I would recommend using this mask and other products in this range if you tend to get really oily skin and/ or are prone to blemishes.

I have combo to oily skin, with big pores prone to whiteheads, mid aged. Uneven skin tone. Used acids before, skin tough. Have used mask for a month now, not every night, 5 out of 7, or 6 out of 7 a week. This serum comes in a pump bottle. Formula is clear gel. no scent. Based on 8% Neoglucosamine . Full list of ing: Water/ Eau, Acetyl Glucosamine, Propylene Glycol, Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/ Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Polysorbate 60, Sorbitan Isostearate, Polysorbate 20, Disodium EDTA, Caprylyl Glycol, Chlorphenesin, Phenoxyethanol, Yellow 5 (CI 19140), Red 4 (CI 17400 Mask is gentle on my skin. I used it after cleansing and toning (non acid when using this mask), then over it when absorbs and sets a good rich night moisturizer to seal hydration. Skin tone looks more even with use of this mask, toner from same line (8% glycolic), 4% mandelic cleanser and Neostrata Carify serum (8% mix of Mandelic Acid PHA acid). One month of use. Mask's main active ingredient is very gentle exfoliator, but has been found to boost hydration and brightness of the skin. I find on its own, my skin feels thirsty for something to place over it. It has tightening effect if used by itself at night time. I need a moisturizer over it. Overall my skin is smooth, pores clear, skin tone improved, texture improved.

I was lucky to be able to try the Neostrata® Clarify Exfoliating Mask, this was my first time using this and it did not disappoint. This product is different to most other masks because you apply at night and sleep in it. I used it once a week, applying to clean skin before bed. I let it dry and could tell the product was on my skin and working. You need to apply a really good moisturiser once the mask is dry - make sure you don’t skip this step as it would be too drying if you didn’t apply moisturiser. In the morning I rinsed my face and was left with bright, soft skin! Even after one use I could see a big improvement in my skin. It helped clear my pores but wasn’t too harsh on my skin and didn’t irritate it. I really liked the way this product left my skin, and have continued to use it weekly. This is one that I will definitely be including in my skincare routine going forward.

The Neostrata Exfoliating mask is such a cool product. I am very keen on it. I find that exfoliating products that sit on the skin, particularly overnight, are the most effective for my skin. This gel covers the skin easily with a small amount and feels a little tacky at first however after a few mins it fully absorbs and you can easily apply a moisturiser over the top. It is odorless and colourless. The product must be left for a few minutes for it to give the best results before applying a face cream over the top. For a sensitive skin, you would probably be best to wash off after a minute or two. Hint, always make sure you wash your hands after applying to the face.

I have oily combination skin so I was very excited to try this mask. This was my favourite product from the range. Pros: It is fragrance-free! While I don’t mind some fragrance in skincare as my skin tolerates it (whether or not I like the scent is another story) but some people are sensitive to it so it not being included as an ingredient makes this suitable for more people. Due to the absence of fragrance, this does have a sort of chemical smell to it but it is barely noticeable and not unpleasant. It quickly dissipates as soon as it is applied. I found this really gentle! I experienced no stinging or irritation and was able to use this every night. It is oil-free and it doesn’t make my skin feel greasy or sticky. It’s really easy to use! The clear gel formula glides onto the skin with ease. The fact that it’s not meant to be rubbed in, simply applied and left to soak in on its own makes this quick and easy to use. It takes less than 10 minutes to fully absorb then I seal it in with a moisturiser. It works! I wake up with soft skin that is less congested and oily. My skin is also clearer and post acne marks seem to fade faster than usual. My skin appears brighter and smoother, too. Cons: I have nothing negative to say! I would love to know why this doesn’t have a flip-top lid like the cleanser, though. I find them easier to use when my hands are covered in whatever product I’ve just used, and it eliminates the chance of losing the lid or it ending up on the floor if you’re clumsy and/or own a cat. Conclusion: After a few weeks of use, I found the amount of excess sebum on my face has reduced (also on my upper back/neck where I break out) which I attribute to the use of this and the other three products I used from the Neostrata Clarify range. My overall congestion and the amount of breakouts I experience have reduced since using these products. I think this range can be beneficial to anyone as gentle exfoliation is fantastic for keeping skin clear and youthful, so I definitely recommend for anyone interested in the benefits to try it.

I have been enjoying this exfoliate over night where I just put this mask on my face as my night cream leave it on my skin overnight and wash my face in the morning with Neostrata clarify cleanser ! After using this exfoliating face mask from Neostrata my skin texture has improved and my skin is looking more plump and healthy! I have definitely got a glow on my face ! I lo e how easy is to use this exfoliating mask overnight! This gel mask targets the needs of oily prone skin with 8% neoglucosamine which is a gentle bit effective exfoliator for minimising skin pore appearance ! It also helps to correct skin discolouration! Only a little goes a long way and is very effective

A good exfoliating mask is a game changer for winter, especially when most of us have our faces covered during the pandemic. The neostrata exfoliating mask is effective without feeling like you have stripped skin.  As someone with reactive sensitive skin new products leave with anxiety however the mask has proven itself. The treatment stays on overnight – great if you are terrible with timing how long you need to leave a product on like I am and it doesn’t leave a mess on pillows or bedding.    The exfoliating mask has been highly effective on my sensitive skin reducing the inflammation of pimples and I’ve had no additional breakouts!
