QV Skincare Ceramides Cream

I test the QV Skincare Ceramides Cream for my face and body. My face is often dry with redness and can be prone to breakouts so I gravitate towards hydrating formulas. I found this to be too thin and slightly greasy, this caused my skin to breakout in small spots on my chin and forehead. I will not continue to use this on my face however I did find it nice to use on my body. As the weather is getting hotter, a thinner body moisturiser or lotion is great as it settles quickly into the skin and doesn't look too oily, however I would not recommend this if you prefer a rich, thick body lotion.

I’ve been using the QV Ceramides Moisturising Cream for a while now, and it has become a staple in our household. The first thing I appreciated was the large tub, it lasts ages, which is great when you’re moisturising the whole family every day. I love that it’s colour-free and fragrance-free, so there’s nothing irritating or overpowering about it. It just feels clean and gentle, exactly what I want in a daily moisturiser. Being Australian-made is a nice bonus too. The cream non-greasy texture, and it sinks in quickly. It’s gentle enough for my 3 year olds dry, sensitive skin, but still hydrating enough for my perimenopausal skin! Overall, it’s a no fuss product that genuinely works for the whole family, and I’d happily recommend it to anyone wanting a basic daily moisturiser.

The QV ceramides moisturising cream is an everyday moisturiser that can be used for both the face and body. It comes in a generous 500g tub so it will last for many, many months! I also like the idea of using one product for my face and body which is very convenient and good value for money. It does not contain any fragrance and it is non-comedogenic which means it won't clog pores. The first thing I noticed about the cream is that it is light and doesn't feel too thick or heavy. It absorbs nicely into the skin without feeling greasy or leaving any residue behind. As it says on the packaging, it contains ceramides which is great for the skin barrier, as well as glycerin and niacinamide. Skin feels hydrated and soft - a great product for all skin types!

I really wanted to like this cream since I’ve used and enjoyed QV products before. Unfortunately, this one didn’t quite work for me. The texture feels a bit thin for my liking. It’s non-greasy, which is nice, but it doesn’t give that “rich” feeling I’d expect from a deeply moisturising cream. I also don’t find it very hydrating, as my skin (especially my fingers) tends to feel dry again not long after applying, so I end up reapplying quite often. On the plus side, it’s fragrance-free, which I really appreciate since I prefer products without added scent. I haven’t used it long enough to notice any “glowing” effect, but as a basic moisturising cream, it missed the mark for me.
