Redken Extreme Shampoo

I bought a litre size of this shampoo and conditioner after using a different Redken Shampoo and Conditioner combo. My regular hairdresser said to use one round of this to help repair my hair. I bought the larger size as it was value for money but unfortunately I found myself waiting desperately for it to finish so I could run and use something else. It’s not terrible by any means! It’s a high quality product and doesn’t compare to cheaper supermarket branded shampoos. It’s nourishing and cleans the hair quite well. However, I just didn’t feel like it helped my hair as much as I would have liked. It’s not very expensive so it’s a good shampoo to use on the regular.

I was recommended this shampoo by my hairdresser for my colour treated hair. My hair is dry, brittle at the ends and damaged. I am currently blonde and it just makes everything alot worse. It doesn’t help when you have naturally dry hair. I purchased it along with it’s accompanying conditioner. I guess I did notice a little less hair fallout/breakage but nothing too extreme or significant. It was a nice shampoo to use, the quality felt good too but I just don’t get the urge to run and buy it again unfortunately.

I've had a good experience with Redken hair care products and decided to try this shampoo on my dry and damaged hair. This shampoo creates a really creamy and fine lather and has a sweet berry scent. A little goes a long way, and it cleans really well without being stripping. The surfactant is Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES) which is supposed to be gentler than SLS. The formula also includes some plant proteins. At first I didn't think it was anything amazing, but I realised that I have significantly less hair falling out during shampooing, compared to other shampoos. I guess the smooth and creamy lather must reduce the friction and stress on the hair, and that's got to be a good thing.

I love the extreme range. It’s a very effective range for damaged hair. I find it very healing on my foiled hair, especially on the dry areas. This range has been around for a few years but I still find it is one of the best protein shampoos on the market. That’s why I have given it 5 stars. I found that it suds up well. I like the scent and I find it cleans my hair effectively as it restores the structure of it, adding strength and shine. I would recommend this shampoo to anyone who has damaged hair and I’m happy my hairdresser recommend it to me.
