As good as it looks
New essential tool in my hair kit! Amazingly curls with ease and softly straightens without damaging the hair. The colour and design is gorgeous, love seeing it in my bathroom. I find it vert easy to use, allowing multiple different hair styles to be achieved with this one tool. Great for tights curls, soft waves and quick flicks. Heats up quickly and stays hot though out the styling process. Compact design easy to store great additional to any hair care kit. Hair feels soft smooth after use, with curls lasting for day after use. The wet to dry function isn’t amazing, a quick blow dry first helps then use as a styling tool.
2-in-1 Air Styler – A Curly Girl’s Honest Take
Let’s start with the name. AIRvive sounds like a luxury product but doesn’t describe what it is or does. Turns out it’s a hair dryer and straightener rolled into one, which is pretty clever—especially if your bathroom already looks like a hair-tool graveyard.
First impressions: it’s long. Like, elbow-to-fingertips long. Not heavy, but definitely bigger than your average straightener, so there’s a bit of a learning curve when manoeuvring it around thick, curly hair. Think: arms doing Pilates while you style.
Now, about those big claims—“locks in moisture for up to 24 hours” and “heat-activated micro conditioners embedded in ceramic.” I’ll be honest, that part felt a little gimmicky. My curls were sceptical. That said… my hair didn’t feel fried, which for frizzy, damaged curls is already a win.
The wet-to-dry function is where this really shows its strengths and its limits. If you have thick, curly hair, you’ll need to section like your life depends on it. My curls cling together when wet, so airflow doesn’t magically reach every strand. Once I properly sectioned, it worked much better—but this is definitely more effortless for people with finer hair.
Flyaways? Yes, a few—but that’s also my current hair damage talking. Frizz and I are lifelong frenemies.
What I did love:
• ✔️ 5-year warranty (huge green flag)
• ✔️ 3-metre cord (freedom to roam… or trip, depending on your setup)
• ✔️ Lockable plates + hang loop (so practical)
• ✔️ Simple controls (on/off + 3 settings = no degree required)
• ✔️ Silicone heat mat (chef’s kiss)
• ✔️ Luxe feel overall, even if the colour isn’t my personal fave
It also works perfectly fine as a regular straightener, and once dry, it leaves hair sleek and polished. I wouldn’t call it a miracle worker for curls, but I would call it a time-saver and a space-saver—especially for busy mornings.
Final verdict:
For frizzy, curly hair, the AIRvive™ isn’t magic—but it is clever, well-designed, and surprisingly enjoyable to use once you get the hang of it. Best for patient curlies who don’t mind sectioning, and probably a dream for finer hair types.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (minus one star for making my arms work harder than leg day)
Amazing frizz free
I LOVED this, nice design, pretty colour, not too loud of a noise. My hair is extremely frizzy so i loved that you can use it on wet hair which helps the frizz stay away. I have used a few times now it takes me about an hour because i have alot of hair but it is worth it. My hair feels really smooth afterwards, no frizz i also used a frizz oil before hand to help go together. Ive only ever had cheap or second hand straightners given to me so it is a big winner for me i will be using it most days. Thankyou so much for picking me to review i definitley needed this.
Its okay - Not the best product out there
I tried the Remington AIRvive 2‑in‑1 Air Styler, and while it sounds handy in theory with its wet-to-dry and straightener modes, I found it only okay in practice. The straightener mode does a decent job on dry hair and can smooth out a few sections well enough, but the wet-to-dry function is quite slow and not very powerful — it takes ages to make a noticeable difference, and my hair still ended up a bit frizzy afterward rather than sleek. Overall, I personally wouldn’t recommend it and don’t think it’s worth the money if you’re expecting strong drying performance or consistently smooth results.
Quick, Convenient, and Practical Styler
The Remington AIRvive 2-in-1 Air Styler has been a really useful tool to have in my routine, especially since I have long, thick, and naturally frizzy hair. I was looking for something that could simplify my styling process without needing multiple tools, and this one definitely helped with making things easier. After using it a number of times, I feel like I have a clear idea of what worked well for me and what didn’t fully meet my expectations.
One of the biggest positives for me was the timing. I was genuinely surprised by how quickly I could get my hair looking presentable. My hair normally takes forever to dry and style because it holds moisture and has so much volume. With this styler, the whole process took around fifteen to twenty five minutes, even when my hair was wet. That made such a difference when I needed to get ready faster for the day. It feels lightweight, easy to handle, and comfortable to hold for that amount of time, which made the experience a lot smoother.
For everyday use, or for those days when you want to look put together without doing a full salon style routine, this tool really helped. It shaped my hair nicely and gave me that clean, polished look without needing a lot of effort. The simplicity of using it was something I appreciated because I do not enjoy spending ages working through my hair, especially on busy mornings or before heading out in the evening.
There were a few things I did not love. The main one is that it did not fully smooth out my frizz. My hair texture is naturally thick and frizzy, and I usually rely on tools that help seal everything down for a sleeker finish. With this styler, I still needed to go back over a few areas with another tool if I wanted that extra smooth look. It still made my hair look neat, but it did not replace the tools I normally use for taming frizz.
Tried & tested multiple times
Fast heat up and the finishing setting is great and I really wanted to love this item however… the plastic feels cheap, it’s awkward and a little heavy to hold. The air that comes out to dry isn’t the best either and blows your baby hairs up no matter which way you hold it. The barrel is wide and the plates don’t go all the way to the edge like the other Remington straighteners or their competitors which leaves a line around your head from the section that have been straightened and the top where it couldn’t quite reach. Leaving you to use another straightener to finish near the roots which kinda defeats the point of an all in one unit. If you’re just wanting something to go over already straight hair as a finishing touch then you’d be ok but to do a full head is tedious. Such a shame I have other stand along Remington products that do a far better job.
Tames Frizz
This product is certainly a good option for taking frizzy hair! I have wavy hair which becomes frizzy without heat styling or products. The main problem I have is that heat styling takes a lot of time as my hair is also quite thick. I found that using this tool made it simpler by being able to dry and then straighten. It is relatively simple to use and lightweight which helps! I found that the first time I used it, my hair took a very long time to dry but I found that a good towel dry before makes a big difference. It didn’t seem to get too hot or make my hair sizzle which hopefully means it won’t create lasting damage. I also appreciated that it wasn’t too loud to use either!
My hair was noticeably smooth and straight for 3 days after using the tool. The quality of the product appears quite high and is certainly good compared to alternatives with similar functions. I would recommend this tool for anyone looking for a simple way to dry and straighten frizzy hair.
Great product for drying and styling
The Remington Airvive is a great new product and concept.
It’s really cool that you can dry your hair and style it all in one.
You use it on wet hair by clamping the hair towards the top of your scalp then slowly moving down to the ends. The clamp itself is smooth and silky, and doesn’t jolt in your hair. I kept repeating until dry which took me maybe 6-8 times each section of hair.
It is simple and intuitive to follow, and I picked up the technique really fast.
The style function works like a really good straightener would. It instantly gets rid of frizziness and leaves your hair perfectly straight.
The only downside I found is that it took longer than a normal hair dryer would in order to dry my hair.
When switching from drying to styling function it changed modes quickly so you could continue without having to wait.
The finished result was fantastic. My hair was less frizzy and it stayed dead straight even after sleeping on it.
It’s a pretty design with nice purple colour and feel good material. The heat protective mat is sleek and just what you need for it. It’s very quick to heat up and much quieter to use than I expected.
It also has a great price point compared to similar products. For a hair tool that can be used for multiple functions it is affordable.
It’s going to be great during summer to style my hair one day then know it will stay straight and fizz free for the next. The style holds well in humidity.
I would recommend it to my female friends and family. It will be particularly good for my friends with thinner hair.
Overall if you have the extra time available to use it to dry then style your hair it does a fantastic job. I would also use it purely for styling in place of a straightener.
Amazing styling in half the time
I am genuinely impressed with the Remington AIRvive 2-in-1 Air Styler. Right out of the box, the product has a sleek and modern look that immediately catches your eye. It feels high-quality and comfortable to hold.
I have shoulder-length hair, and I used the styler to try both the wet and dry modes. Both modes worked really well! It dried my hair surprisingly quickly and I was particularly satisfied with the straightening results. It gave me a smooth, polished finish without the frizz. It's truly excellent for taming my flyaway hair.
The styler made my entire routine feel so much simpler. It heats up to its set temperature quite quickly, which is a huge plus when I'm in a rush. While I do wish there was a temperature control option, the speed at which it dries and straightens more than makes up for it.
The only slight drawback for me was the curler function. Since my hair is only shoulder-length, I found that the curler didn't do much for me. I guess this feature would be far more effective and give better results for someone with longer hair.
Overall, if you're looking for a fast, effective tool for drying and straightening that gives you a smooth finish, this is fantastic. It's a real time-saver!
Time Saver!
As someone who pretty much only blow dries then straightens my hair, I was really intrigued by this product. It took me a couple of goes to get the hang of it but once I figured out the best method it worked quite well. It really saves time and having only one tool to do both things is ideal, it will be great to travel with. The only thing about the product I didn't particularly like was that it is quite bulky and heavy (I don't think this is avoidable though) - I continuously felt like I needed a break to rest my hand. Overall, I really liked the finished result, it left me with no frizz compared to my usual blow drier method.
Great idea, suited for thin-medium hair
I really love this idea for a product. Unfortunately the 2 in 1 tool didn’t work very well on my hair. I have very thick, wavy hair and it struggled to deal with it. It didn’t do much for my frizz either which was a bit disappointing. Typical straighteners also struggle with my hair though so I don’t see it as a product fault in any way.
I think that it would work really well on those with thin-medium hair though, and perhaps those with naturally straighter hair. It’s so convenient to have a 2 in 1 tool and it was really easy to use, heated up really quickly and was an overall good experience
Salon quality at home
"Would you like me to straighten your hair?" The words I wait for the hairdresser to say everytime I get my hair cut. With a head full of curly hair that frizzes up at the first sign of moisture, I love the feel of perfectly smooth straight hair.
I've tried to acheive the salon straight look at home. 2 hours of my arms above my shoulders trying to juggle bits of hair and a rediculously hot hair iron. No thankyou.
Then a Remington AIRvive turns up in my hands. It promises to be different. My arms are already hurting at the thought of the coming hours worth of pain.
Wait, what?!
I can't beleive how good this pretty coloured contraption in my hand is. It's like discovering creamy chocolate, or finding the perfect fitting dress...with pockets!
I didn't have to wait so long for the styler to heat up that I forgot I had turned the thing on to begin with.
Within less then a minute the AIRvive was ready to use.
30 minutes. That's how long it took to get the frizzy locks looking smooth and straight. I am genuinely impressed. The light weight design was comfortable to use, and it didn't get so hot that bits of my hair melted off. It just worked. My hair looked like I had been to the salon.
Guess what I'm going to buy my sister?
This Remington AIRvive is my new favourite hair styler. I can use it with confidence, like my perfect dress with pockets.
Remington Airvive on Curly hair
I recently had the opportunity to trial Remington Airvive 2-in-1 hair styler, and I’m genuinely impressed with how well it performs. especially on my naturally curly hair. What stood out to me right away was how much time it saved. Normally I have to fully dry my hair before straightening, but this tool lets me do it all in one step without any extra effort.
The results were even better than I expected. My hair stayed straight all day without reverting back to curls, and it remained smooth and frizz-free from morning to night. The finish is sleek but still natural, and I love that my hair feels soft instead of dry or over-heated. Leaving it with a natural straight look.
Overall, this product has made my styling routine faster, easier, and far more effective. I’m extremely happy with the results and would definitely recommend it to anyone especially those with curly or hard to manage hair.
Good alternative to the Dyson Airstraight
Cons:
- It takes longer to fully dry hair compared to a regular blower. It took me around 20mins to dry and straighten my shoulder-length thin hair.
- The device feels a bit heavy during use.
- There’s no temperature control button. It would be better if it offered multiple heat settings.
Pros:
- After straightening hair, my hair becomes smooth with little to no frizz.
- The plates glide through the hair effortlessly.
- It keeps my hair straight fora longer period of time.
Overall, I am happy with it. I would use it for styling hair but not for drying.
Anti-frizz air styler
The Remington AIRvive styler has two modes one wet and the other finishing. I trialled this hot tool for a week and it was very easy to use. After blow drying my scalp and removing excess moisture from my hair ends using a microfibre towel, I used the wet mode function gliding the tool across small sections of my hair. I find that even just using the wet mode function alone it removed the frizziness from my hair. Once my hair was dry I ran the styler through my hair using the finishing mode and it made my hair looking and feeling smoother. In terms of packaging it would have been a bonus if they included a little bag to carry the styler around. Overall, I would recommend this product to those who are after a 2 in 1 hot tool that removes frizziness and leaves your hair more smoother.
My new go to - anti frizz styler
It looked sleek and high-end — like a premium product. It was super convenient and easy to use, although it didn’t quite perform as well as a blow-dryer or straightener on their own. I think it would be helpful if the styler had clearly labeled “wet” and “dry” modes, the images were a little confusing, so I wasn’t sure which setting to use for dry hair, or if it even made a difference.
That aside, it was very easy to operate. I have very long, fine hair (but lots of it), and typically when I blow-dry then straighten I spend around 45 minutes to an hour. Using this styler to get my hair perfectly straight would take close to an hour likely because it doesn’t get quite as hot as a blow-dryer or straightener, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing!
Still, for casual use it’s become my go-to tool. It doesn’t leave my hair as frizzy as a blow-dryer does, and when I don’t have time for a full styling routine, it’s convenient and efficient.
The AirVive is fine.
The AirVive is fine. It dries and styles but just not impressively. The drying function works but feels slow. Even with fully dry hair it takes heaps of passes to get the hair straight. It’s lightweight and not too loud, which is good. But overall it didn’t wow me.
I don’t hate it, but I wouldn’t particularly recomend it either. Maybe if you had very thin hair.
For the price I would expect the experience to be a little quicker. Took me almost an hour and a half to get my hair dry. Normally styling my hair takes only 30-40 mins from fully wet hair with the Dyson. So I can't justify the amount of time it took when my results weren't great.
Quick, Smooth Styling Without the Fuss
Remington AIRvive 2-in-1 Air Styler is one of those tools that actually makes my getting-ready routine easier. It dries and styles at the same time, so I can go from damp hair to smooth, polished hair without juggling a dryer and a straightener. The ceramic plates and their design look great. Its airflow helps keep frizz under control, and you get soft, sleek, shiny hair in no time. It works fine for most hair types; my reliable styling takes less fuss if you want something that saves time and still gives you a clean, smooth finish every time.
Non-damaging hair straightener
This is a great product! It straightens your hair in a way that gives a sleek and shiny results. The product is not too heavy so it doesn’t hurt your arms when you need to use it for a while. The colour is also a cute purple instead of the usual colours of hair styling tools. It does exactly what you would expect it to. My hair felt strong and soft after its use, it didn’t give my hair the usual burnt smell that it usually gets after straightening which is nice. It’s a great alternative to those high heat, damaging hair straighteners. I would definitely recommend.
