Revlon PhotoReady™ Instant Plump Serum Gloss

I recently tried this lip gloss, and overall I’d say it’s pretty average. The texture is a bit sticky, which I didn’t love, but it’s not the worst I’ve tried either. It does give a nice, glossy shine and makes my lips look a little fuller, so visually it performs the way you’d expect from a typical lip gloss. However, I wasn’t a big fan of the formula because it contains a lot of menthol. The cooling sensation is very strong—honestly, a bit too strong for my liking, and it made my lips feel very, very cold and slightly uncomfortable after a while. If you enjoy that intense cooling effect, you might like it more than I did. I personally wouldn’t buy this again. That said, I will give it credit—the color was actually really nice and flattering.

I was hesitant to try this product as I have tried a number of lip plumping solutions before but never liked how they felt or how they made my lips feel. Immediately on using this product I really liked the colour! This is different for me as most lip plumping solutions I've tried don't have a colour, or the colour isn't very nice. I was impressed that the tingling wasn't as intense as some of the ones I've tried. I noticed my lips plumped up within a minute which was really cool! I didn't find the sensation as uncomfortable as I have with other products. I found the lip product to be very nourishing as well, a bit like a lip balm, which is different as these products are often glossy and dehydrating. All in all I would definitely recommend this product!

I trialled this product for a week and each application I saw instant, visible, plumping results. Upon the first application of the Instant Plump Serum Gloss, I felt a tingling sensation, however after each application, this lessened. As having used plumping glosses before, this was to be expected. The tube and applicator is easy to use and the gloss glides on smoothly, without the texture feeling sticky and caked on. I have used it by itself and blended it with a lip liner and both options of application worked well, leaving my lips feeling silky and moisturised. It has become one of my go-to lip glosses. I highly recommend this gloss!

A hydrating, high shine lip gloss with a fire and ice complex that is marketed to plump up your lips. What I like about the serum gloss is that it's non sticky and doesn't feel thick on the lips. The colour payoff is great too. I think for me personally the sensation from the plumping ingredients took some time to get used to as I don't use lip plumping products very often. I will say that it does make your lips feel really warm and you start to feel the tingling sensation fairly quickly. The intensity started to build but nothing too extreme. Thankfully I could handle it. Does it actually plump the lips? I can’t say with certainty but perhaps a slight difference. However, I wouldn't say it's very noticeable.

The Revlon PhotoReady instant plump serum gloss is a pigmented, shiny gloss that helps to plump up your lips. I received the colour 'Bring the Zing' which is a bright pink/coral colour. The applicator makes it easy to apply onto your lips. The first thing I noticed when I applied it was just how pigmented the colour was. Most lip glosses can be quite sheer but I found the colour to be bold so I didn't even have to apply too much of the product. Then I started to notice the tingling! I have tried lip plumping products before but I'm always cautious about how it's going to make my lips feel. Some are mild while others can feel really uncomfortable. As time went on I could still feel the lip gloss plumper working but it didn't feel painful or like I needed to take it off. The gloss itself already made my lips look great but having the plumping effects made my lips slightly plump and even better. The shine of the serum gloss is beautiful and would make for a nice lipstick topper.
