Okay Rosehip oil but no improvement in tone

I prefer lotions and creams over facial oils but I got this Trilogy Rosehip Oil Antioxidant + as part of a gift. It comes in an amber coloured glass bottle. I dispense about four to five drops of the amber/orangey coloured oil onto wet fingers before smoothing over my face. My 30ml size bottle lasted me about two months using morning and night. It can be used with moisturiser but I used it alone. It didn't cause any breakouts but nor did I see any improvements in tone or elasticity in my 40 plus skin. Not something I'd purchase but still an okay oil.
This is a good quality rosehip oil. Dark orangey in colour and has that typical scent (a bit fishy and rich). I think that it is best for dry skin types. My skin is oily to combo , prone to dehydration. What I can say , it does not offer hydration (oils in general can not do this), but makes skin look healthier if the skin is dry and dull looking.  Very easy to spread on damp skin. I do not like applying it on dry skin. And I use it only when I overuse acids, retinol and other actives. But over a watery serum or toner or just very damp skin. It absorbs quickly and I use just a tiny bit. Does not do any miracles. It is just an oil. But it is good to use when skin is uncomfortable and sensitised.  Soothes and gives my skin a break to bounce back to its oily normal self.
I have tried hundreds, possibly thousands, of products over the years and this is the one I keep returning to,time and time again. It truly is that great. The Trilogy Rosehip Oil Antioxidant+ comes packaged in a dark brown glass bottle with a dropper applicator. To use,you simply dispense 3 or 4 drops into the palm of your hand, rub them together and then gently dab the smooth golden oil all over face, neck and décolletage. The scent is absolutely addictive! A mild very natural scent that I simply can't get enough of even after years of using. My skin before using this product was quite combination:oily and congested in tzones, dry and bumpy on cheeks. After a few days of use of this amazing oil my skin felt and looked incredible! So soft to touch, more balanced and just had a radiance that it never had before. I use this alone some days after cleansing as it is like a serum and moisturiser all in one for me.  I dab it over makeup during the day to increase the dewy glow look also. This is the one product that has had a permanent place on my shelf for quite a few years now. Truly love it.
I used this product in late 2017/ early 2018. I have received a small bottle of this antioxidant oil as part of a larger gift pack. I have normal skin and I have been using a facial oil for a while. In particular, I have used 4 rose hip oils to date - this one, Sukin, Kosmea and Essano. In terms of rose hip oil blend, I have used Antipodes divine face oil. Having read so many positive reviews on Trilogy rose hip oil, I was excited to try this. When I opened the oil- the first impression was the fishy smell. It is not the same as rancid - it's just fishy- but not to the extent that it is unbearable. The smell does dissipate about 10 minutes after I put it onto my skin. However, this scent is not really there in any of the other RHO that I have tried (Essano smells bad as well, but I think it just smelt "off" instead of just fishy). It doesn't expire until 2019. This RHO is not overly "wet" and oily - I can still use makeup on top of it and it gives me a nice glow under the makeup. The colour of the oil is a deep golden yellow colour, which indicates that it is nutrient-rich. It does not give me any breakout or congestion. I haven't particularly observed any change in skin texture and radiance, but the bottle that I used was only small (about 2-3 weeks of application twice a day). I emailed Trilogy's customer service and told them about the smell. The response I received was along the lines of "if it's not expired it is fine to use. Some people mistaken the woody scent as fishy". Well, I know the difference between woody and fishy. Sukin RHO is woody, Kosmea RHO is woody, this one is fishy. Given that this is the response that I received, I don't think that I would re-purchase this product.
I have been using rosehip oil for years and have tried many different brands and yet I keep coming back to Trilogy. I love how hydrating this oil is - it is especially great in winter, when my skin gets that extra bit dry. As with many oils, it does take a moment to sink into my skin, so I tend to use it at night time rather than during the day. As a rule I don't use it under makeup as I find it can make my base slip and slide all over my face, and we certainly don't like that.  The scent is lovely - that sweet, warm scent of rosehip. And the glass bottle with pipette dropper is the perfect way to dispense the oil.
The Trilogy Rose Hip Oil is such a quality blend. Beautifully processed to bring out it's rich golden goodness, it is worth the extra price as compared to cheaper blends I have tried as it has a richer texture and the mark of quality in a rosehip oil is the brightness in colour that indicates a richer concentration of antioxidants. This oil blends into skin like a dream and plays nicely with other creams and lotions when mixed together to make them more moisturising. This product proves 'oils ain't (rosehip) oils'. Quality of an oil blend counts.
I have tried this rosehip oil in the travel size and I loved it so much. I have dry skin so I use facial oil as part of my daily skincare routine and I love skincare with rosehip in it so this facial oil is a must try for me. Normally I use 3-4 drops of the oil and blend into my night cream and apply onto my face which gave my skin further hydration without any breakouts or pimples. My face looks so radiant and plumped the next morning and I would mix 2 drops into my foundation to keep my skin hydrated throughout the day.
I have a handful of holy grail products and this Trilogy Rosehip Oil Antioxidant + is definitely one of those holy grail products. I've been using this facial oil for about 5 years now. I love how it's an affordable, yet top quality skincare brand that I can be rest assured I'm doing the best thing for my skin, when I use. I use this twice a day, after facial serum and before moisturiser. I also put a drop or two in my foundation to create a beautiful glow-y look. I also pop a couple of drops into my moisturiser for an extra hydration boost. I would tell everyone to add a Rosehip Oil to their skincare routine, it's one of those multi-use, indispensable beauty products. Trilogy's RHO is like liquid gold, a beautiful, thick consistency that glides over the skin easily, instantly plumps and hydrates and provides a perfect base for makeup application for me.....and I have really dry, mature skin.
I have uneven skin tone and fairly dry skin and decided to purchase this Antioxidant+ version of Trilogy's Rosehip Oil. This one has a slightly heavier texture as it contains a mix of other oils and fruit/plant extracts to brighten and protect the skin from environmental damage. The product comes in a dark 30ml bottle with a dropper to easily dispense the oil. I do find this version is a bit too heavy for my skin and it doesn't absorb as well as the original Rosehip Oil and I find the scent quite unpleasant. On the plus side, I have noticed that my skin is definitely softer and it has a healthy radiance when I use this. I find about 2- 3 drops is enough for my face and I apply it to slightly damp skin to help the oil get absorbed quicker.  I still prefer the original Trilogy Rosehip Oil which I find is more lightweight, nourishing and can be used all over; including around my eye area without causing irritation. I think this version would be great for mature skin or anyone who wants a slightly heavier facial oil.
For a cult product from a cult brand, I cannot believe this has no reviews! Allow me...  I have combination and acne prone skin and the benefits of rosehip oil have always been front of most of the skincare advise you recieve. Trilogy is such an excellent and reputable brand that I can 100% say that this is worth every cent. This is more than just rosehip and I love the inclusion of tomato for extra brightening on the skin.  I like to apply this on a damp face and find that about 3-4 drops is well enough to cover my entire face. As it is a dryer oil, it doesn't feel slick or greasy on the skin and is perfect for day or night use. I also actually find that it can help control my oil if I use it as part of my priming routine for makeup.  I notice that my acne is less inflamed when I use this an helps my skin to heal faster and more effectively.  Rosehip is also natures natural Vitamin A so some people find this is extremely beneficial for their skin health.
Just Yes. This is probably the best product I’ve ever tried. It made my skin so hydrated and glowy! It’s definetly worth price.  If you have dry skin this would be really good for you- I used it twice a day and found that it cured those dry crusty patches with a couple days.
I love a great rosehip oil and love trilogy. This oil has a lovely silky consistency and contains rosapene, full of antioxidants to protect and reguvenate my skin. If I use this oil regularly my skin looks brighter and more youthful and feels really smooth. This oil has improved the tone of my skin and helped my fine lines to finish in appearance. It doesn’t feel oily on the face as it sinks in really fast. I have used cheaper rosehip oils but this one is high quality and I would recommend it
