Rosehip Oil Light Blend - I'm unimpressed

I have been using Trilogy Rosehip Oil Light Blend for about three weeks now and I can't say I'm overly impressed. I've been using it mostly at night for about three weeks. I haven't been using it with any of my usual moisturisers just instead of. The instructions say to use 2-3 drops but I have been using about four drops. I can't see how 2-3 drops are enough to cover my entire face. I haven't had any bad reactions or skin breakouts, but I'm just not convinced it has done anything for my skin that my usual products can do. It doesn't absorb as well as my usual creams and leaves my skin looking shiny. Not a product I plan to purchase.

Lighter version of Trilogy's famous rosehip oil

I wish I could love this oil! Unfortunately with rosehip oil, I have had less success, primarily because it unfortunately breaks me out. I love love love the effect it gives on my face – I definitely notice a glowy appearance and it also helps with my scarring. However, I always notice breakouts, possibly because it is a “thicker” oil than other oils like jojoba oil. The Light Blend unfortunately also gave me the same results. I was so excited to try this as it is a mix of rosehip oil, jojoba oil and grapeseed oil. My first reaction is that the colour is not as yellow (as if the other oils have diluted the rosehip) and that the scent isn’t as strong as the original rosehip oil. I enjoyed applying it directly to my skin after showering, and also mixing with my regular moisturiser. Both gave my skin a really nourished feel. If you have used Trilogy rosehip oil before, it looks the same – a dark frosted bottle with a glass dropper. I don’t mind the packaging but I prefer a pump bottle, because it is easier and also I believe keeps the product more effective due to less oxygen entering the bottle. I loved the feeling and my skin definitely glowed after application. I prefer to use this at night only as it still leaves a slight oily residue and sort of “sits” on the skin instead of being fully absorbed. I don’t mind this as I have similar experiences with other facial oils. Unfortunately after using it every day, once a day at night, I started noticing that the oil was breaking me out around my chin and nose area (which is where I get some of my hormonal acne). It didn’t cause me to break out on my cheeks though which is my drier area. I continued to use it but just on my cheeks and my under eyes, and I love the hydrating effect it gives me skin there. I believe this is the “secret” to using products for my combination skin – use products targeted for oily and acne-prone skin on my T-zone, then this super nourishing rosehip oil on my drier areas. I have rated this product 4 stars as I will definitely continue to use this as I think it is such a beneficial oil. I would also use it more often as winter rolls around – my combination skin changes a bit and needs more hydration. I will stick to using this in targeted areas, and think this is a great addition to my skincare routine.
I have been using this light blend oil in place of my regular serum for two weeks - every night. Since my skin is combination but leaning towards oily side - I never thought oils would do any good for me. In fact I was pretty sure that they'll make it worse and cause break outs. This changed after reading an article on BH as well as advise from fellow angels on forum. As I started using this oil regularly, I can see that my skin is becoming more balanced. The fragrance of this oil is quite natural - nothing floral or overwhelming. Although, it's called light blend, I still find it quite rich. Just two drops on damp skin are enough to cover my whole face and another two for neck. It does get absorbed quite nicely, leaving behind a glow that is nice and likable. Most skincare routines are suppose to end with oil but I like to apply it on damp skin ...so I usually start with this and then apply a very light night cream - unless using a mask and/or serum. Wouldn't recommend using this before applying mask as the oily layer might not let all that serum from mask get absorbed properly.
I was attracted to try this product as Rosehip oil is rich in linoleic fatty acids and naturally occurring retinoids acid which nurtures skin cell regeneration. I applied this oil generously to my face as an intensive treatment. It revitalised the appearance of my skin making it feel silky soft, plump and hydrated.
I owned this in my favourite one to use at night.  I have a very bad flakey skin around my nose this help me a lot. It’s a bit expensive for me but it’s takes a long time to finish. No scent at all which is good 5 stars
This oil is light weight as described and would suit someone who want to use a face oil in the morning as it's not as heavy as a 100% rosehip oil. The best thing is it is fragrance free and absorbs into your skin very quickly so I feel you must need to use a few more drops than usual with other heavier oil.
