This is a great mattifying primer for use on your t-zone.  I don’t necessarily agree it gives a flawless, matte finish on its own for a full 8 hours, but used under foundation then sealed with a finishing and setting powder it does an excellent job.  Where it works best is on your nose - if you have a shiny smooth nose like me it helps the foundation to stick and stay without rubbing off easily during the day. WINS: Great price point Easy to use / non-greasy Only use a small amount so it lasts  Fragrance free Use on your t-zone for best result FAILS: Not as long wearing as it claims Great choice for ageing/combination skin at a supermarket price point.
This white primer doesn't seem to spread a great deal so quite a bit of product is required for the full face. It sits well under my foundation not stopping all shine unfortunately. It is in a squeezable tube with a pleasant scent and glides on easily. Once blended in it is a little tricky to know where the product has been placed.
This is the first primer I have very used and I don't think I will ever switch to a different brand. My skin is really oily and I either have to use thick foundation creams or accept with the fact that my skin is really shiny. This primer made such a difference though. I applied it after moisturizer, and after few minutes applied my foundation - no shininess! My skin looked picture perfect for hours and hours.
I have been using this primer for years, ever since I started using primers. For a long while, I had no complaints, I was just happ yto have lotion that makes my makeup last longer. Over time though my expectations have risen and I’ve become a little disappointed with this product. The cream itself has a very dry and thick feel. I can actually feel it drying quite quickly as I’m working it into my skin. Because of this my foundation won’t blend as seamlessly and it is picking up and moving around the dry primer into a patchy and streaky mess under the foundation. From afar this isn’t noticeable, but it’s quite clear up close. I started using a different, more ‘liquidy’ primer (actually the Nivea Sensitive Post Shave Balm), which was working, but needn’t a little more matte power, so I started combining the two and have found a delightful medium. Together they are light, moist enough to blendout foundation without hassle and mattifying enough to keep my makeup in place.I’m glad to have repurposed this product, because it does manage the oiliness and it is quite cost effective. Also, the packaging gets a little fiddly towards the end and you end squeezing out way more than you need, but I’ve just been cutting it open and scooping out the rest.
For the cheaper price you pay for this drugstore primer I would say it does the things it claims to do on the packing (matte complexion, controls shine, ultra lightweight, minimises the appearance of pores) making it a good product as you are getting what you are paying for.  The packaging says that you can use the primer "alone, under or over makeup".  I have personally only used it as a base for under my foundation and concealer and am not entirely sure how it would work over makeup due to its consistency and finish.  Initially I was a bit concerned that the primer would feel heavy and thick on the skin and not lightweight like it says on the packaging as it is a very thick and creamy consistency. Although the initial consistency is very thick and creamy I found that once I applied the product to my face and allowed it to dry I almost couldn't believe I had any kind of product on my face at all as it felt so lightweight and almost non existent on my skin which I really liked. I found it also dried really quickly which was good particularly if you are in a rush and don't have time to wait around for your primer to completely set and dry. I wasn't particularly fond of the way the primer first smelt when I applied it to my skin as it smelt kind of fake (chemically) and plastic like, however I found that once it dried there was hardly any smell left to it at all.  The primer leaves your skin feeling very matte. I could also see how it somewhat minimised the appearance of my pores (particularly around my cheeks and nose where my pores are larger) as it is almost creates a very lightweight veil over the skin that blurs and smoothes the skins surface reducing the appearance of your pores. I found it also helped my foundation and concealer to apply to my skin easier and go on a lot smoother. The primer did help prolong the wear of my makeup however I would say that for me and my skin which tends to be more oily in my T-zone, it didn't last as long as it says on the packaging (8 hours) as I noticed that my skin did get a little shiney throughout the day. I also found that the primer stuck to any little patch of dry skin making it appear really noticeable which I didn't like as it made apply any sort of foundation or concealer in these areas almost impossible. Thus, I would definitely not recommend this product to anyone who is more prone to dry skin or that likes a primer that is somewhat hydrating.  With that being said I think for the price of this primer it is definitely worth a try for anyone with more oily skin who wants to prolong the wear of there makeup.
I've used a few different promoters including MAC and Arbonne but I find this Rimmel primer works best for me and my skin and at only less then half the cost! My makeup stays on all day and my pores don't show which is a big tick for me as I have problems with my skin.
I would definitely recommend Rimmel London Stay Matte Primer because it covers my pores and keeps my foundation in place all day which is a must because I work in a humid climate.     The only downside for me, my skin breaks out if I wear it too many days in a row.
This primer is extremely good for the price of it. It's light enough for every day use however for special events, I much rather Benefits Porefessional or something a little more expensive. It does an alright job of keeping the skin matte for short periods of time however I have extremely oily skin, especially in my T-zone and it doesn't stay matte for long periods of time. I highly recommend this product for people with combination/oily skin as it does a great job for the price that you pay.
I bought this as I had heard it was comparable to benefits porefessional which i love. I only used under my makeup and it did help prolong the wear. It minimised my pores but at the end of the day I had noticed that my face gets a little shiny.
