Rachel Zegler’s glowy makeup routine includes a $19 Aussie fave
It’s simpler than you think
Hunger Games’ fever is back in full force thanks to the release of The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.
At the centre of this fanfare is new kid on the block Rachel Zegler, who made her silver screen debut as Maria in West Side Story just two years ago.
Innate talent aside, Zegler is also undeniably gorgeous. During her latest film’s press cycle, she delivered a whole bank of drool-worthy beauty looks, making it clear that she’s got a solid regime down pat.
So just what does Hollywood’s rising star use? Here we break down her routine based on her video with Vogue for their Beauty Secrets series.
Rachel Zegler's makeup routine
Zegler's approach to skincare is refreshingly straightforward. Blessed with easy-to-manage skin, she prefers the CeraVe Foaming Cleanser ($22.99 at Adore Beauty) for its effectiveness in removing dirt without being harsh. This simplicity underlines her skin care philosophy: effective and uncomplicated.
Lip care is another priority for the actress, who expressed that she’s a big fan of Australian skin care favourite, the Lanolips 101 Ointment ($19 at Sephora).
Over the top of her serums and moisturiser, she seals things in with the Augustinus Bader (a brand which Margot Robbie swears by) Face Oil ($140 at Augustinus Bader).
Zegler’s makeup routine emphasises layerable products that enhance rather than mask her natural beauty. She starts with Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue ($59 at MECCA), a lightweight choice that evens out the skin tone without the heaviness of traditional foundations.
In an interesting twist, the 22-year-old applies eyeshadow before concealer. She's partial to Charlotte Tilbury's cream shadow in ‘Pillow Talk’ ($50 at Charlotte Tilbury) for its blendable quality.
For concealer, she trusts Giorgio Armani ($68 at Sephora), applying it with a foundation brush for a more natural, even distribution. This technique helps avoid the overly bright under-eye highlight that Zegler prefers to steer clear of. Her bronzing and blushing choices are equally thoughtful. The Armani bronzer she uses is known for its buildable quality, allowing for a subtle, sun-kissed look while her muted blush adds just a hint of colour, complementing her bronzer.
Zegler’s makeup focus lies in her brows, which she says are her most complimented feature.
“I get them threaded every now and then but I like to let them grow so they don’t lose the thickness,” she said in her Vogue video.
To enhance them just that little bit, she uses Chanel’s eyebrow pencil ($48 at Myer).
Following up with a nude lip liner/lipstick combo and a healthy coat of mascara, The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes star is complete with her daily makeup routine.
