The product

There are some beauty products with a cult status so exalted, that when they are discontinued the outcry of the masses resurrects them from their untimely grave.

Revlon Skinlights™ Face Glow Illuminator is one such product. This ingenious multi-use liquid illuminator was taken off shelves back in 2015, and much to the delight of beauty lovers everywhere, it has resurfaced five years later.

Whether worn under your everyday base products for a more radiant complexion, mixed in with your foundation for a subtle, all-over glow, or strategically applied to the high points of the face, this multitasking illuminator is a staple for any kit.

Our panel of Review Crew® testers put this liquid illuminator to the test.

The panel

Beauty Crew sent the Revlon Skinlights™ Face Glow Illuminator to a panel of women aged between 25 and 39 who wanted a makeup look with a healthy, illuminated glow.

The lowdown

Here’s what the Review Crew® loved about the Revlon Skinlights™ Face Glow Illuminator.

The multiple ways it can be worn: Reviewers appreciated the versatility of the illuminator and loved how easy it was to customise the finish to suit the look they were after.

The wearable, buildable glow: Our members really liked the fact that the illuminator was subtle enough that they could create a customised glow. They were able to build it from a sheer wash of highlight to an impactful strobe depending on the application and layering of the product.

The radiance it gave their complexion: Reviewers were wowed by the stunning luminosity they were able to achieve with the illuminator, with one reviewer exclaiming that the product made her look like a “glowy angel”.

The verdict

“Another quality, easy to use, however you want to use it, Revlon product, that (in my opinion) every woman should have in their kit. I typically use it over my foundation just to highlight my cheeks and other essential spots to give that more natural/healthy looking finish. I recommend it to everyone who doesn't want their skin to looking flat and lifeless, especially when wearing make-up.”

“I’m such a huge fan of Skinlights. It’s one of Revlon’s best lines and I wish they would bring back the Skinlights foundation! Until then I make do by mixing this gorgeous illuminator in with my foundation to give myself a beautiful glow. The Face Glow Illuminator can be used on your cheeks, under your eyebrows and a smidge on your Cupid’s bow and any other places the sun touches to look like a glowy angel.”

“A beautiful glowy illuminator. A great multi-use product. I used this mixed into my foundation and it created a beautiful glowy finish without making me feel like a shiny disco ball. I also loved using this on the high points of my face for a really beautiful and natural highlight. And lastly, [it] worked well as a little bit of a shimmer over the eyelids for a fuss free no makeup, makeup look.”
