Rihanna just announced her pregnancy in a full face of Fenty Beauty

Is it the glow of motherhood (or maybe it’s that Match Stix Glow)?

February 15 2022

Rihanna’s been avoiding pregnancy rumours since the conception of her career.

But every time she’s dodged the bullet of the prying public and birthed a new beauty release to silence the masses. Case and point? The Fenty Beauty perfume that dropped last year and subsequently sold out (practically overnight too).

But this time the pop star and beauty mogul changed the narrative and debuted a baby bump (courtesy of boyfriend A$AP Rocky) with an iconic maternity photoshoot captured by photographer Miles Diggs AKA Diggzy.

Rihanna wore a full face of Fenty Beauty of course, which was perfectly executed by the brand’s Global Makeup Artist, Priscilla Ono. Ono shared images of the People exclusive photoshoot via her Instagram, so the beauty-obsessed among us could revel at the MUAs handiwork.

As to be expected, Rihanna’s complexion looked flawless. No doubt the 33-year-old was wearing her go-to Fenty Beauty Pro Filt'r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation in shade 330 ($67 at Fenty Beauty). As for her perfectly manicured arches? We think it’s fair to say that the Fenty Beauty Brow MVP Ultra Fine Brow Pencil & Styler ($39 at Fenty Beauty) is responsible for that bit of eyebrow magic.

The bad gal’s eyes were accentuated with a subtle palette of moody neutrals that we’re attributing to the Fenty Beauty Snap Shadows Mix & Match Eyeshadow Palette in ‘True Neutrals’ ($50 at Fenty Beauty), topped off with a few healthy layers of Fenty Beauty Full Frontal Volume, Lift & Curl Mascara ($43 at Fenty Beauty) – duh.

As for Rihanna’s iconic pout (we could stare at that cupid’s bow until the cows come home),  we’re betting on a combination of the iconic Fenty Beauty Stunna Lip Paint Longwear Fluid Lip Colour in ‘Uncuffed’ ($46 at Fenty Beauty) and the Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer in ‘Fenty Glow’ ($36 at Fenty Beauty).

Of course, even beyond her beauty look for the reveal, one of our first questions was "what does Rihanna's pregnancy beauty routine look like"? And fittingly, because she's not only one of the coolest people on the planet but also the founder of one of the beauty game's most inimitable brands, it's both equal parts simple and chic, and packed with products she designed herself.

The biggest player? A great body cream. When quizzed by Allure on how her routine has changed since she found out the news, Rihanna confirmed that hydration was no doubt her biggest priority. "I would say I'm staying more moisturised than ever, obviously," she shared. "[Fenty Beauty] Butta Drop Whipped Oil Body Cream ($65 at Sephora) is my go-to."

As for what she's relying on to make her feel polished while pregnant, it's a dynamite lippy. "Lipstick, for sure, is a big transformer for me," she told Refinery29. "It always has been though, not just now, but especially now. It can change a look, it can make a look, it can transform your feeling. Because you know, a lot of days, I'm really tired, especially now, but it gets you off the couch, for sure, if you can put on a bomb lipstick and just *snaps fingers* put on a look to go with it."

We're going to go ahead and guess said "bomb lipstick" she's talking about is her newly released Fenty Beauty Icon Refillable Semi-Matte Lipstick ($34 at Sephora), which of course looks chicest housed in the corresponding refillable case ($19 at Sephora).

So while we wait for all the next-level maternity looks we're sure we'll be seeing, we'll be staying busy slathering our own bods in Fenty body cream and applying lipstick to get ourselves off the couch. Pregnant or not, both are always good ideas.

In the meantime, let’s reminisce on all the times Rihanna changed the game with iconic red carpet beauty moments. This is Rihanna’s style evolution.
