Ever since Selena Gomez announced she’d be launching her Rare Beauty cosmetic range back in February, beauty devotees around the world have been waiting with bated breath for the latest updates. Now, the singer has shared some exciting new hints on the launch, during an interview with Amy Schumer for Interview Magazine and it seems Rare Beauty will be strongly centred around inclusivity.
“I have 48 shades of foundation and concealer,” Selena says.
“I wanted to start a conversation about how can you make yourself feel great. It’s not necessarily about needing these things to make yourself feel beautiful. People of my generation have all this pressure to look a certain way, and I wanted to make a line that took away a bit of that pressure. I use real people in the campaigns.”
But, that’s not all. In a recent Instagram post, Selena also hinted that a statement red lipstick will feature in her collection.
Although the rest of the product line-up hasn’t yet been shared, last year Selena filed trademarks for fragrances, cosmetics, skin care, hair care, soaps, and essential oils. This may provide a telling sign she’ll be releasing products in these categories.
The range is set to be released globally at Sephora stores and we'll keep you updated as soon as we get word on the Australian launch date.
