And it only uses three ingredients

There has been much debate over the years about how you should be applying your foundation – from your fingers to a brush, to the wacky silicon SiliSponge – but the humble beautyblender is still the reigning tool of choice in the beauty world thanks to its perfectly formed egg shape that leaves a streak-free finish every time. We all know how important cleaning our makeup tools are, even if we don’t do it as often as we should; the same goes for our beautyblender. So when a Reddit user shared their hack for deep cleaning a beautyblender using only three ingredients that you most likely already have in your kitchen, we were sold.

Reddit user Vanyamuina revealed that her magical combination of ingredients for cleaning a beautyblender includes one part olive oil, one part dish soap and one part water. Her instructions are to: “Mix it up, soak up some in your beautyblender, and then run it under hot water, squeezing it over and over. I do this about three times per sponge, and then clean it regularly with a face wash and hot water. Make sure you clean it well, or it will dry and have an oily residue feel to it.”

She then posted an image of her super clean beautyblender, sharing that the concoction results in a 100 per cent clean sponge every time.
