While roses are typically a representation of love and romance, we’ve discovered that they’re also ace at improving the quality of skin and can uplift your mood when you’re not feeling too good. They’ve popped up in quite a few new launches lately, proving to be the latest go-to ingredient - here are our favourites that feature the flower.
Dior Prestige White Collection Le Nectar Lumiere
If you’re looking for a luxurious option to add to your existing skin care routine, you’ve come to the right place. This top of the range facial serum is packed with Rose of Granville, a special plant discovered in the cliffs of the Dior Gardens in central France, which boasts the power to fade pigmentation, firm skin, brighten the complexion and smooth uneven texture.
Aerin Garden Rose Eau de Cologne
Aerin’s newest release is just as divine as walking into a blooming field of white Bulgarian roses, rose bouton sauvage, rose centifolia and geranium. Gently balanced by a base of sandalwood, amber and musk, this eau de cologne is a light spritz that can be worn on its own or layered with a scented body balm or oil for added impact.
Jurlique Rose Hand Cream Handpicked
Restore hydration and prevent chapping caused by washing your hands with drying soaps with a nourishing hand cream like Jurlique Rose Hand Cream Handpicked, which also features a natural rose fragrance that’ll soothe the senses.
Giorgio Armani Si Rose Signature EDP
Armani’s Si Rose scent is calming and exhilarating at the same time. We’re big fans of the special blend of bergamot, mandarin, ambrette absolute and vanilla pure jungle essence, but it’s the addition of not one but two incredible rose notes - rose de mai and rose turque - that makes this fragrance truly remarkable.
Lancôme Absolue Precious Cells Recovery Night Cream
This night cream - made with rose centifolia and rose damascena - is a firm favourite in the office, and for reasons beyond the addition of the floral ingredients. What we’re most impressed with is the extraction process: the delicate flowers are put through a carbon dioxide treatment that transforms it into a potent and active ingredient to treat ageing skin.
Kenzo Flower By Kenzo Eau De Lumiere EDT
The cult ‘Flower By Kenzo’ fragrance has had a makeover; this time with the addition of sweet jasmine in addition to Bulgarian rose, violet and white musk from the first iteration. The result is slightly sweet and incredibly smooth, and something you’ll want to spritz every morning - we’re sure you won’t get sick of this one.
Herbivore Botanicals Rose Hibiscus Hydrating Face Mist
The easiest way to quench a thirsty complexion is with a face mist, and Herbivore Botanicals’ version is one we’ve been reaching for of late. Unlike some others, this product absorbs quickly into skin, and we think the clever concoction of hydrating coconut water, nourishing hibiscus flower and healing rose has something to do with it.
The Body Shop Fresh Plumping Mask British Rose
We’ll take any excuse to pamper ourselves silly, and so should you. The Body Shop’s Plumping Mask brings together rose essence, rosehip oil and aloe vera to soothe and replenish, but what we seriously can’t get enough of is its ability to improve radiance, even as quickly as the day after using it.
Refresh your skin this season with these new ways to exfoliate your face.
