Major fashion retailer Zara has ventured into new beauty territory with the US teaser launch of their haircare collection, Zara Hair, joining forces with renowned hairstylist Guido Palau (the mind behind major fashion hair moments such as Marc Jacobs, Versace and Fendi runways) to create their incoming line.

Ahead of their 2024 launch, the fashion brand has released a four-piece holiday collection, which takes on the label of ‘makeup for the hair’.

The amuse-bouche collection is just a taste of what Zara Hair has to offer, yet the ‘Glitter in Gold’ set acts as a daring sneak peek.

Retailing for $50 USD (approximately $76 AUD), the set includes two styling products, a golden hair comb and a 12-piece gold bobby pin set. Products and accessories included, the whole set takes a sleek gold approach, reminiscent of the backstage vibe of a fashion show.

As for the ‘hair makeup’ descriptor, each product is designed with a gold shimmery tint, linking into its holiday timing.

The first styler, Give Me Gold gel, is ideal for your slicked-back ‘dos. Enhanced with a subtle gold sheen, the buildable styler can be built up for a more opaque metallic effect. As a topper, the Give Me Glitter Hair Spray enhances the shimmer even more.

“You can update your hair and make it look fun just for a night,” Palau said.

Palau demonstrated this in a video with Kaia Gerber, applying the topper spray to a freshly combed and pinned part.

“I love Kaia. She represents Zara Hair for me, both relatable and aspirational. She wants to have fun with her hair,” he said.

For that touch of holiday fun, it seems the Glitter in Gold set is the way to go.

“In fashion we do a lot of very extreme looks, especially in my career. But when you start talking to real women, they want little tips for how they can make their hair look great or different without cutting it,” Palau said.

“Hair is a safety zone and these products offer a noncommittal, user-friendly option.”

While those in Australia have yet to access the range, we’re eager to see what Zara Hair will bring in 2024.
