Alison Brie just brought back ‘60s makeup in a BIG way

Retro makeup - Alison Brie

We’ve got a feeling this trend is about to be *everywhere*

Sixties nostalgia is making itself FELT with Alison Brie’s show-stopping beauty look at the 2018 MTV Movie and TV Awards.

The actress hit the red carpet with a stunning retro beauty look and we have a feeling that this is set to be the latest makeup trend that you need to get on board with. Unexpected? Yes. Into it? Completely.

She gave off some major mod vibes wearing a pretty pink lip, baby blue eyeshadow, white liner on her inner waterline (read: the secret to the brightest eyes ever!) and a voluminous, slicked-back sky–high ponytail.

And THOSE lashes! Those dramatic, feathery lashes were stunning. Teamed with a slick of black liquid eyeliner on her upper lid, Alison channelled a modern day take on Twiggy’s famous eye makeup.

While there are a plethora of lengthening, defining, curling and multiplying mascara formulas out there (we’re extra partial to L’Oréal Paris False Lash X-Fiber MascaraMaybelline New York Colossal Big Shot Mascara and Benefit They're Real! Lengthening Mascara), you could also look into false eyelashes if you’re keen for an extra epic effect. Check out the steps, the different false lash types and the expert tips here.

While we’re used to seeing the actress in full-blown retro mode (ahem, please check out Mad Men if you haven’t already), this particular combo - the pop of colour, slick updo and oversized lashes - gives off a playful, fun vibe that we cannot wait to try for ourselves.
