What it is: St. Tropez Gradual Tan In Shower Lotion Golden Glow in Medium

Why you need it: Now that we’re on the homestretch to spring (à la warmer weather and bare legs), you may be considering a faux tan to add to your beauty routine. St. Tropez’s new Gradual Tan In Shower Lotion may not be new to market, but its updated formula and new shade addition is reason enough to run to the shops and try it immediately, especially if you’ve got a medium or olive skin tone. The best thing about this product is how easy it is to use - you can slap it on, jump in the shower to wash off the residue, and be left with the most even-looking tan all over that looks seriously believable.

What you need to know: Not to be confused with a body wash, this product provides a deep coat of colour and hydrates skin (all thanks to the inclusion of sweet almond oil). It’s also loaded up with a tanning active that contains DHA (the ingredient that can darken skin), along with jojoba ester, a deep tanning enhancer that encourages the product to sink further into the outer layers of the skin, creating a longer-lasting effect.

When we were developing the product, we realised that you need hydration for the product to work properly, and for your pores to open up.

How to use it: Dispense a tablespoon of product into your palm, and apply it to clean, damp skin. Wait three minutes for the formula to develop on skin, and rinse off. Repeat on three consecutive days for a deeper, richer tan.

It is fair to say that you do go darker, the longer you leave the product on. The minimum amount of time you need to have it on your skin is three minutes.
