Take a peek at the celebrities who honoured the colour of their frocks on the amfAR Gala red carpet by wearing matching makeup tones. The results? Simply stunning.
Looking like a flamenco dancing goddess in her frilly red frock, Katy smartly kept her makeup quite subtle in comparison to her normal style, opting for a matching bold red lip and eye-defining black liquid liner.
Using the shimmering metallic shades of her peacock-like frock as inspiration, Elle wore a matching iridescent gold eyeshadow across her entire eyelids and under the lower lash line to create a halo effect.
Mischa’s greeny blue eyes positively pop against her matching plumy eyeshadow and aubergine coloured frock. Taking the colour under the lower lashes - not just the top - further defines her eyes, creating a bolder finish.
Keeping things tonal, Karolina paired a deeper magenta purple lipstick with her lilac strapless dress to prevent her fair skin and blonde hair from looking washed out. Smart!
What makeup look could possibly make an impact against a dramatic black sequinned frock? Equally as dramatic black liquid liner and false lashes, of course!
Taking the drama up a notch further than Doutzen, Alessandra kept her look tonal by complementing her plunging black sequin dress with black eyeliner along her water line, striking false lashes, and black and brown eyeshadow applied in a halo shape.
Cherie is somewhat of a digital dinosaur, having kick-started her beauty writing career back in 2009 at PRIMPED alongside industry expert Zoë Foster Blake. Since then, her words have appeared online and on paper for BEAUTYcrew, POPSUGAR, beautyheaven, New Idea, and Fitness First, while her marketing know-how has helped brands such as L'Oréal Paris, The Body Shop, A’kin, and Dr. LeWinn’s add a journalistic flair to their digital content. She is a vocal advocate for (physical) sunscreen, is rather fond of a bold lip, and is utterly terrible at styling hair.
