Ready for the best new beauty products that have just hit shelves? Don't say we didn't warn you - this month is jam-packed with incredible brand-new products that you are going to want to get your hands on.
Sisley SisleYouth Anti-Pollution
Thanks to city living, the delicate skin on our face can experience the signs of ageing due to pollution and blue light. Which is why the new SisleYouth Anti-Pollution piqued our interest; it claims that it can protect our skin against these two factors in one lightweight solution. “It has been found that excessive exposure to blue light contributes to ageing of the skin,” says Tonia Casswell, National Trainer of Sisley Australia. “Pollution can [also] have a visible impact on the skin. Pollution and oxidative stress can cause dehydration, loss of radiance, and sensitivity, as well as premature skin ageing.” Key ingredients such as organic buckwheat seed extract, ginkgo biloba leaf extract and pea extract in the formula help support the skin's barrier function and create a protective shield against pollution, while shea butter nourishes and softens skin.
Dior Backstage Face and Body Primer
With the ability to blur, plump, brighten, smooth *and* boost the longevity of your base, the Dior Backstage Face and Body Primer is a no-brainer for every skin type. The texture is almost milky, yet it melts seamlessly into bare skin and feels like you're wearing absolutely nothing. Its true powers, however, sing through once you apply foundation over the top; your skin is instantly transformed into a silky canvas, making you look like you've had ample hours of sleep.
Frank Body Caffeinated Hair Mask
The newest Frank Body Caffeinated Hair Mask caught our eye recently as it’s designed to actually be used from root to tip. Yep, not just your mid-lengths, and there’s a reason for that: The hydrating formula helps keep your locks nice and shiny, but it’s actually also infused with coffee to stimulate your scalp and niacinamide to reduce scalp irritation - a godsend this winter, if you ask us.
Samsung Galaxy Watch Active
Sure, having a gadget count your steps and track your sleep patterns is nice, but have you ever come across something that can actually help you relax too? The most redeeming feature of the new Samsung Galaxy Watch Active is its integrated heart rate monitor, which can send you an alert if your heart rate is tracking at an abnormal rate. Plus, it's also equipped with breathing exercises to help you drop stress levels, STAT. Clever, huh?
Olaplex No.6 Bond Smoother
Everything that this beauty brand develops and releases, we adore. So, it goes without saying that we're obsessed with Olaplex No.6 Bond Smoother - it's a leave-in treatment that you can apply to damp or dry hair to eliminate frizz, and protect any hair type. And we're not alone - hairstylist Paloma Rose Garcia of Paloma Salon agrees with us: "I love [this] as it is such a unique treatment that keeps the integrity of the hair through the lightening process of colouring hair. It also assists with improving the hair’s health for those guests who love to heat style their hair often."
Tom Ford Lavender Extreme EDP
Budding with notes like lavender, carrot seed oil and bergamot, you'd think that Tom Ford Lavender Extreme EDP was a herbaceous muddle that was soft in character. But that's not the case in the slightest. Layered with tonka bean, orris and benzoin, this spritz has an alluring oriental edge and is great for both sexes to wear.
Max Factor Miracle Veil Radiant Loose Powder
Forget what you know about loose powders - the Max Factor Miracle Veil Radiant Loose Powder can soak up excess oils on combination or oily skin types without making your base look cakey or heavy. The finish is also quite luminous and feels like you’re not wearing anything at all. “[This is] perfect on areas of the face that are likely to over-shine, like the chin or nose, yet it will never look chalky or leave skin looking flat,” explains Liz Kelsh, Max Factor Makeup Artist Australia. “Instead, it feels super light on the skin and minimises pores without stealing your glow.”
The Ordinary Salicylic Acid 2% Masque
Congestion, be gone; The Ordinary Salicylic Acid 2% Masque is a face mask that's here to target uneven skin texture and more. “I constantly battle with congestion, especially on my jawline and chin (thanks hormones), so having salicylic in my routine to clear out those pores is a must for me,” says our editor, Carli Alman. “Usually I use a salicylic toner, so I was keen to see how different it would be in a mask. Full disclosure this did tingle upon application, but only for a short time (and my skin is quite resilient). The rest of my 10 minutes was pretty uneventful. After washing it off, my skin felt plump, smooth and soft, and looked pretty fresh and glowy. Definitely one to try if you’re looking to improve skin tone and texture and your skin isn’t too sensitive.”
Rodan + Fields Reverse Radiance Mask
If your skin needs a little more attention in the luminosity department, then check out the Rodan + Fields Reverse Radiance Mask. Besides containing a special retinol complex and glycolic acid to gently remove any dead skin cells from the surface, the addition of turmeric can seriously dial up the glow factor on your skin in as little as 10 minutes.
The Beauty Chef The Gut Primer
A lesser-known way to up your skin health is with ingestibles - specifically ones that target your gut health. “The first step to balancing the gut is to heal and seal the lining of the gut," explains Carla Oates, founder of The Beauty Chef. "When the gut is leaky, even the healthiest of foods can be problematic to your digestive system and cause low-grade inflammation, which can contribute to both skin and health issues. Gut Primer is a powerful medicinal, herbal and superfood powder designed to help repair the lining of the digestive tract and is used ideally in conjunction with a gut healing diet.”
Glam by Manicare Precision Eye Duo Makeup Brush Kits
The key to a seamless smoky eye does depend on the actual eyeshadow itself, but we think the tools that you use can largely attribute to a successfully smouldering look, too. Glam by Manicare have taken the guesswork out of which brushes to buy with their newest pack, the Precision Eye Duo Makeup Brush Kit, which consists of an All Over Shadow Brush and Precision Crease Brush to colour-in and blend without catching on your skin.
The hottest eyeshadow look this season is pastel; here’s our guide to wearing the trend.
