Billie Eilish is launching another fragrance

But when is it available in Australia?

July 18 2023

Billie Eilish has been using her Instagram to launch a lot of important life updates lately, including her relationship with Jesse Rutherford last month.

Her latest announcement? A new Billie Eilish perfume has been born — aptly named Eilish No.2.

Her first — Eilish — was warm, sweet and woody, with notes of red berries, mandarin, sweet petals, soft spices, cocoa, vanilla, woods and musk.

But, according to Eilish, No.2 is the antithesis of its predecessor

“I had these ideas of this kind of darker, rainy, grey world… with elements of that [Eilish] warmth and sweetness, but then with a spicy, woodsy twist for a more sultry and wet feeling,” she said via the fragrance’s dedicated website, Billie Eilish fragrances.

Eilish No. 2 ($72.00 USD at Billie Eilish fragrances) is described as “an alluring aroma which opens with the freshness of Italian bergamot and apple blossom.”

“A woody, earthy spiciness of papyrus and black pepper, with a contrast of wild wet poppy flowers, flows into a base of woody palo santo and ebony, expertly wrapped in a veil of skin musk,” says the descriptor. Honestly, it sounds divine!

The only issue? According to the Billie Eilish fragrances website, the “Eilish No. 2 fragrance is currently available in the U.S. only.”

However, the brand encourages international fans to “join the mailing list for future updates on Eilish and international product availability.”

And given Priceline stocked Eilish’s first fragrance from the 11th of August until the 24th of August earlier this year, we think it’s safe to assume that we’ll be hearing word of Eilish No.2 enjoying a similar limited run at the discount chemist.

In the meantime, we’re on the hunt for some convincing Eilish No. 2 dupes. Considering Le Labo’s Santal 33 was a dupe for the original Eilish fragrance, we’re a little excited for this launch.

Billie Eilish’s favourite perfumes

Before launching her own namesake fragrances, Eilish preferred to keep her perfume wardrobe varied and versatile.

A year ago, she shared a snap of her scent lineup on Instagram Stories, proving that her fragrance preference can change as quickly as her hair colour. Why box yourself in, right?

So, if you’re keen to shop her rotation, these are the perfumes (beside her own, of course) that Eilish calls her ‘favourites’…

Le Labo Another 13 EDP

Of course, Eilish (AKA the ultimate cool-girl) is a fan of the ultimate cool-girl cologne brand, Le Labo. This particular perfume is a clean, fresh (and yet still earthy) musk and moss mix with a woody twist and a subtle splash of pear. Bonus: it’s as genderless as it is chic.

Etat Libre D’Orange La Fin du Monde EDP Spray

Honestly, this one had us (and apparently Eilish too) at ‘base notes of popcorn’. It’s somehow sweet, spicy and salty all at once, with floral notes of freesia and iris, heady hints of cumin and pepper, and a little popcorn and sesame seed saltiness to round it out.

Dolce & Gabbana Velvet Wood EDP

A drop beloved for its true unisex nature, this captivatingly spicy concoction pulls its perfume from notes of ebony wood, earthy benzoin and smoky leather. It’s a rich and resinous blend particularly perfect for cooler weather, and while it’s not easy to get your hands on these days (it launched way back in 2011), it’s definitely worth the chase.

Nemat Perfumes Amber Perfume Oil Roll-On

Someone who tours as much as Eilish no doubt needs a solid carry-on-friendly cologne in her repertoire too. Her fave seems to be this subtle ‘skin but better’ style amber scent, ideal for applying when you want to smell good, but don’t want anyone to know you’re trying to smell good. It’s nice to know that even mega music moguls don’t turn their nose up at $23 bargain buys, either...

Etat Libre D’Orange She Was An Anomaly EDP Spray

Another spritz designed to offer a second skin effect, this flowery fragrance is the closest Eilish gets to ‘powdery’ perfume town. But while it’s steeped in white florals, the vanilla, musk and sandalwood centre (and the lick of peppery vetiver) keep it creamy enough to still come off cool.

Etat Libre D’Orange I Am Trash Les Fleurs Du Dechet EDP Spray

Eilish may not have a sole favourite fragrance, but it appears she does have a go-to brand, with three of her six signature scents hailing from Etat Libre D’Orange. Despite its quippy name, however, this specific scent smells anything but trashy, boasting a full-bodied blend of cedar, rose and sandalwood, sharpened ever so slightly by a burst of green apple. We must say, even though she’s since ditched the lime streaks, a fragment of something green still feels on-brand for Eilish...
